Beautiful Inspiration

Hello everyone!

I wanted to share some pretty rooms that have me swooning at the moment.  They have some characteristics that I love and feel inspired by just by looking at them.

Love the stone fireplace and the pretty coffee table.  The casual colored pillows and roses are what give this room some personality.

Blue and white is so classic!  I love the white sofa with the pretty patterned pillows and gingham drapes.

Red and white is another classic.  Love how the drapes are a focal point in this room.

Isn't this the most cozy space?  The beams on the ceiling and the soft comfy furnishings with pops of red make this room dreamy.  I love the stone walls too.

Look at this cute bedroom.  It's mostly neutral with the color on the bed giving it some pizazz.  I love the ticking striped sheets and the basket bins in the night stand.

This space just says summer to me.  I love the blue and white patterned pillows mixed together with the white walls.  The dressy chandelier is an unexpected touch.

This is such a fun room.  It's casual with lots of soft color and pattern thrown in.  I love how it all works together. It has a European cottage vibe to it.

Did you enjoy seeing some inspiration today?  I love scanning the internet for photos to inspire me.  With Spring now upon us, it feels like the perfect time to bring a little color in and change things up.

Don't forget to come back here tomorrow night (7:00) with your own inspiration pics for our Share Your Style party!

Thanks for stopping by!

Mixing Patterns

Hello everyone!

Well, it's that time again.  Time to get the weekend started!  It will be a chilly one here.

I've been enjoying bringing in a little bit of color mixed in with all of my white.  Part of the fun has been to mix patterns.  I've been moving things around and toying with different set-ups to decide which combo I like best.

Here are a few patterns that I've been mixing together.

All of this color is toned down with lots of soft white.

And the bold patterns are toned down by some old fashioned pieces thrown in the mix.

It's funny how it all works together somehow.

Hope you all have a nice weekend.  We have a lot going on with my son going to a paint ball birthday party tomorrow and my husband and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary.

Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Blog Hop - Day 2

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the Share Your Style Spring Blog Hop!  Today I am participating along with several other fellow bloggers to share some Spring decor around my house. So, after looking at mine, be sure to visit the others that are participating for lots of Spring inspiration.  Is it feeling like Spring where you live today?  I sure hope so!

Before I get started, here is the schedule for everyone participating in this fun blog hop.

 Monday:
Wednesday:

Since I had my house painted recently, I was anxious to spruce up the front porch for Spring.  So, I added some pops of color with some red pillows and  white flowers in a wooden crate.  I also bought some ferns to go by the front door.

This will be the first Spring that we haven't had to clean our front porch since the painters took care of that for us!

We still plan on changing out our door handle and doorbell soon too.  Looking forward to that.

The ferns will really take off as the weather continues to get warmer.

It's nice to finally be able to use this front porch this year.

Today is still a little chilly, but as the sun comes out it should warm things up nicely.  This porch gets a lot of shade in the summer since a large oak tree sits in front of it.

I hope that you enjoyed a tour of my front porch fixed up for Spring.  A little greenery, some flowers and pretty pillows can make a world of difference in making it feel more inviting.

Now, I hope you'll  check out the other bloggers who are participating in this blog
hop!  Come back on Wednesday night to link up your own Spring spruce-ups too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Touches of Blue in the Bedroom

Hello everyone!

Since I've been on a color changing spree lately, I decided to add my bedroom to the mix. I decided to bring in a touch of blue in my bedroom. I brought in some blue throw pillows and a vintage blue striped grain sack.

It's very subtle, but just enough to notice a change.

I  filled the grain sack with pillows and set that on my bed.  At the foot of the bed, I added a blue lumbar pillow to the bench.

In the chair across from the bed, another blue and white patterned pillow was added.

(Try to ignore the black spot that appears in my photos.  It is a problem with my camera that I hope to replace soon.)

I used my horse statue on one of my bedside tables.  I love the texture it brings to the room.

I've never tried using blue in this room before with my black furniture.  I don't know why it never dawned on me before, but I'm glad I did!  I think it shows up better in person than in these pictures.

Hope you're having a great Monday.  Be sure to stop by again tomorrow for a fun Blog Hop party that I'm participating in.

Thanks for stopping by!

I Found a Place to Use Red

Hello everyone!

Remember how I wanted to use some red accents in my home?  I tried some in my family room but then changed it to blue. So,  I found some red accent pillows that felt right and I used them in my sitting room and foyer instead.  They tie in with the blue nicely without being overwhelming.

I added these red grainsack striped pillows to the chairs in my front sitting room.

They bring a bit of color to this otherwise neutral room.

I like that they are still in a style that goes with Swedish and Country French design.

A few changes were made to the secretary as well.  I removed the books since they ended up filling the dough bowl on the coffee table.  Simple white pitchers and some greenery fill it now.  My Whitewood Farm sign moved in here above the secretary and my white slipcovered ottoman moved beneath it.

I moved the floor lamp (from the family room) in here beside a chair.

I'll share what replaced this lamp in the family room later.

In the foyer, I used this pretty red patterned pillow sham on my bench.

I bought this after having seen it used on my sisters bed and fell in love with the color and pattern!

Thanks sis for the inspiration!  You can see her beautiful bedroom HERE

So, now I have the blue that I love AND a few additions of the red that I like as well.  It all works together and isn't too much color.  (Y'all know I still like neutral colors.)

Hope you all are enjoying the first weekend of Spring!

Thanks for stopping by.

Share Your Style Party #5

Hello!  Welcome to the 5th weekly Share Your Style party!  I am your host this week.  If you are new to my blog, I hope that you will check it out.  I love decorating in both Swedish and Country French styles. I have been blogging for many years and share decorating ideas, recipes, shopping excursions, gardening and some of my family life as well.  I'm so glad that you decided to join us this week.

The great thing about linking up to this party is that your link will be shared on 8 blogs at one time!  So, you get great exposure for your blog.  Look at all these blogs that your one link will be shared on.

It was so much fun to look at everyone's links from last week's party.  Here are just a few that I wanted to feature today.

Rowhouse Blog shared some beautiful mantels on display in Nell Hill's store.  They gave me some great inspiration for some different looks.

The 2 Seasons gave a tutorial on how to make custom designer style pillows inexpensively.  I would love to own a sewing machine so I could do this!  One day, I will get up the nerve to buy one and try this myself.

Buckets of Burlap showed how you can "think outside the box" by using a crate as a coffee table!  Her home is so charming in a country farmhouse style.  Go check it out.

Chatfield Court shared a yummy recipe for easy banana bread with something special added!  Chocolate chips!  I think I will give this a try.  I always seem to have too many over ripe bananas left over so this will be a good way to use them up.

If your post was featured, please grab this button below and copy and paste it in the sidebar of your blog!

Thank you to each and every one of you for participating in this weekly party.  It would not be a success without all of you!  I look forward to seeing all of your new inspirations this week.
