How is your week going so far? It's another hot and humid one here in GA. I actually set up a fan on my front porch so I could sit out there in this heat! It seems to help. Summer break is winding down and school will start back next week. Whaaaaat? It seems every year that school starts back earlier and earlier! I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to Fall. Cooler temps, college football, and Fall festivals can't get here fast enough. But, we haven't even gotten through August yet so that will have to wait a while.
In the meantime, I'm ready to see what all of you have to share this week! Amanda from Dixie Delights is your host this week.
You may recall. last month, that I tried my hand at growing succulents. I thought they would be a cinch since they don't need much care. Also, my confidence was high since I was able to grow orchids and most people have trouble with those. But, it was not meant to be. I may have over watered them because the soil kept looking so dry. Or maybe they didn't get enough sunlight since I didn't have them close to a window. But whatever the cause, I gave up on them.
Here they were in their glory. (May they rest in peace now.)
You may recall that I moved my blue painted chest of drawers out of the foyer and into my sitting room. I just realized that I haven't share that with you yet. I made a few changes in here along with moving that piece, so here is how it looks today.
So glad that you could join us again this week for Share Your Style. Ron from Uptown Acorn is your host this week and he has been a whirlwind traveler lately. So, be sure to check out his blog for some fun places he visited recently.
Hi there friends ...
Welcome to week 23 of Share Your Style!
It's Ron from the blog Uptown Acorn and I'm your host this week! ~~~
I am just returning from a couple weeks on the West Coast where I had a wonderful time. It was my very first to visit Seattle, Portland, Palm Springs, and Beverly Hills.

I hope you're having a good Monday so far. It is just too hot here in GA to go outside and do anything! So, I've been staying inside with the air conditioning. How about you? Is the summer weather nice or unbearable where you live?
Since it has been unbearable outside here, I took advantage of being inside and painted the dresser in my guest bedroom this weekend. I'm so glad to have this project done because it was so tedious!
Recently, I went to the cutest store to buy some Annie Sloan chalk paint. This paint is only sold at certain stores, and luckily this store is very close to my house! It's called Brushstrokes by Maryanne.
I was completely smitten with it, as soon as I walked in, because of the attention to detail that it was given.
There was this charming dining table and chairs (painted in chalk paint) for sale. And check out that industrial style lighting and gorgeous settee!
Thanks so much for stopping by this week for our 22nd Share your Style party. I always enjoy seeing what you all are up to and learning from your projects. This week, Martina from Northern Nesting is your host.
How is your Monday going so far? It is going okay here. I've been battling a problem with recurring canker sores on my tongue lately. It's been going on for several months and it is believed that it may be linked to my inflammatory issues. Ugh! Anyone else have this problem? It is very new to me and NOT fun!
But, on a brighter note, I have been working on my guest room that will primarily be used for my oldest son if he ever wants to sleep over. At first, I didn't change it up very much. I think it was too difficult to give it a new look because I still wanted a reminder of my son in that room. But now that I've had some time to adjust to him moving out, I'm ready for a new look in there. I used items that I already had so no expense was made. Shocking!
With summer in full swing, you're probably noticing a lot of stores having mark downs on summer merchandise. Well, I came upon one of my favorite items (a scarf) having that very thing done. So...............
I bought this beautiful scarf for just a few dollars.
Did you all have a nice holiday weekend? It was relatively quiet at our house. My husband had to work (and my older son) so we didn't do a whole lot here. It rained off and on as well, but did let up just enough for fireworks. Now that fireworks are legal in GA, there were a lot more being set off! You could definitely tell that everyone had been shopping for them this weekend.
I wanted to share a new clock that I recently received. I found it at Antique Farmhouse.
I decided to hang it above my fireplace. I think everything new ends up over the mantel so I can enjoy it more.
Can you believe that it's already July? We are are in the heart of summer now. Of course, this weekend is a holiday weekend too, so I appreciate all of you taking the time to link up to this party this week. I bet a lot of you will be linking up some great 4th of July decor and recipes too. Can't wait to see what you share!
