Share Your Style Party #33

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Share Your Style!  Debra from Common Ground is your host this week.  This is also Debra's last week hosting this party due to personal reasons.  We will really miss her participation with this party.  I hope you'll join me in wishing her well.  She will continue to blog though.  So, don't worry, she isn't leaving us altogether!

Welcome Friends,
Glad you're here to Share Your Style!

First, I have 3 great features from last week,
then please read on, I have a little blogging news.

Nancy from Nancy's Daily Dish gave us

Rhonda from Ramblings of a Southern Girl shares

Mary Jo from Masterpieces of My Life shows us how
to take Dollar Tree pumpkins and make them over 4 different ways!

pssst...I think the moss covered ones are my favorite!

And this last week was spent giving
my China Cupboard a Fall Makeover, Here and Here

and now to my update...

I just wanted to let you all know, this will be my last week co-hosting Share Your Style. Nothing dramatic going on, my health is staying stable, but my life is changing, as it has a habit to do. Traveling with my Hubby and some family things are on the horizon, and I know I need to dedicate more time to those things. I'll still be posting, I just can't keep a weekly time schedule. Stepping down frees me up to post when it's easier, and hopefully no pressure. Don't worry about me, you all that have been with me over 6 years know I tell it like it is. I hope you'll still come visit me, and I hope you'll link up all the fun and inspiration with one of the other seven great bloggers who are still participating in Share Your Style. Thanks to the other co-hosts of Share Your Style! And thanks to all my readers, you know how much I love you guys! OK, hard part done...

So now,
Let's get on with the party!

Some Fall Decor in the Dining Room

Hello everyone!

Thankfully, my jury duty was cancelled so I didn't have to go in yesterday.  Woo Hoo!  And, it is Fall break here this week for my son.  So, things are a little easier this week.  This is the first year our county has ever offered a Fall break to our students.  So, this is exciting.  However, too bad that the weather isn't very nice.  It has been rainy, muggy, cloudy, and humid ever since last weekend.  I'm hoping to see the sun at some point this week.

I was able to begin some Fall decorating though.  I only did a little.  I added some to my dining room table, kitchen table, and front porch.  Today, I'm sharing my dining room.

Suwanee Days Festival and New Pillow

Hello everyone!

Well, our desk top computer is working for the moment.  It's an intermittent problem, so I'm not sure how long it will work for me, but for now I'm happy!  I was just relieved to be able to get the Share Your Style party up and running.  No one wants to miss a party do they?!

Last weekend, I went to a couple of fun festivals.  This time I'm sharing pics from one that is right across from my husband's fire station in Suwanee GA.  We actually parked there and walked right across the street!  Most people had to park far away and be shuttled in on a bus.  Guess this was a perk of him working and helping people in that community.

Even though this was a "Fall" festival, it felt more like a "summer" festival.  It was hot!  The temps were in the low 90's.

Computer Problems

Hello everyone!

Unfortunately, I am unable to co-host the Share Your Style party tonight due to computer problems.  It won't let me copy data etc.  I can't tell  you how many hours I spent trying to fix the problems only to give up and my computer will have to go in the shop for repair.  It has been giving us problems for a while but it is officially unusable now.  So, I regretfully won't even be able to copy the other links to the other co-hosts for the party.  You can look at my past party history to find those links though.  I will not be blogging until our computer is fixed so I don't know when I will return.  I have jury duty next week as well.  Fun times at my house!

Hopefully, I'll be back soon!

Enjoying some Fall Festivals

Hello everyone!

Hello, my name is Kelly, and I am a Fall festival enthusiast.  Ha Ha!  My favorite thing about the changing season is the fall festivals that are popping up every weekend.  I went to two this weekend!

The first one was with my sister and we went to The Market in Alpharetta.  It was held on the square with lots of tents set up and people selling everything from produce and honey to antiques and homemade clothing.

Here are a few pics from our day together.

New Paint Color

Hello everyone!

I recently decided to change the color of a dresser used in my front sitting room.  It was a light blue and I loved it for a while.  I enjoyed the softness of the color and it blended well with the rest of my house.  Here is what it looked like.

Just a Smidge of Yellow

Hello everyone!

I hope your week is starting out well.  Mine was hectic this morning between taking my son to school  an hour early for a test he had to take and dealing with road construction the whole way there.  Then, I came back home just in time to take my dog to the vet for his follow-up.  He got his drain removed and they took him off his pain meds.  He goes back on Friday to see if we can remove the e-collar.  He's finally eating better and even gained some of his weight back since his last appointment!

So, with all of the stress that I've been under lately, I'm wondering if that is why I chose to add a smidge of yellow to my kitchen.  It's such a happy color.  I don't like a lot of yellow (like I used to) but a pop of it here and there is just right.

Can you see that smidge????

There it is.  Peeking out on that pillow.  I like how it looks with the grey curtains.

I also lucked up on a HUGE sale at Michaels recently and found these extra deep lined wire baskets.

I was hoping to find one with the number 1 on it but couldn't. So, I just turned one around backwards.  It is another number 3 basket. I like that these are deep enough to hide what I put in them.

And one more pop of yellow peeks out of this basket at the end of my kitchen cabinets.

I think these yellow pillows will look nice mixed with Fall decor whenever I get around to putting it out.  I've really enjoyed seeing all of the inspiration out there that everyone has done so far.  It has even been feeling like Fall here too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Accessorized Cabinet and Dog Update

Hello everyone!

I am happy to report that my dog, Max, is doing much better.  He had a surgical procedure to install a drain in the lower part of his eye socket on Wednesday morning.  They kept him overnight and I brought him home on Thursday.  We have to give him antibiotics, pain meds and ointment every day.  He is wearing an e-collar (which he hates).

Rug Pad Review and Foyer

Hello everyone!

I was recently contacted by Rug Pad USA to review one of their rug pads.  Now, I know to most people, that doesn't sound too exciting!  That is probably about as exciting as buying new tires for your car, right?  However, what DID appeal to me was knowing that I would have the opportunity to finally "get it right" with the proper rug pad.  What do I mean by "get it right"?  Well, many of you notice that I don't have a rug in my family room.  I used to though.  That is until I decided to look under it and found that it was sticking to my floors and leaving rubber all over it!  Not pretty!  I pulled up the rug and then had to go to the store and buy some heavy duty adhesive remover in hopes of removing it from my floors and not ruining them further in the process.  After several hours on my hands and knees, I was able to remove the residue.  But, there are still reminders of the damage it caused if you look closely enough on my floor!  THAT is why I gave up on a rug in my family room.  I was a little shy of trying this whole thing again.

So now.............I don't have to worry about that happening as long as I use the proper rug pad.  I have a rug in my foyer that I was using (once again) the wrong rug pad with.

Warming up the Family Room

Hello everyone!

Since most of my rooms are white, it's hard to warm up the spaces without adding some color.  But, I still love neutral colors, so I found these cute ikat pillow covers on Etsy that did the trick. I placed them on my sofa in the family room and love the contrast.
