Family Room Changes

Hello everyone!

Are you happy it's Friday?  I know I am.  My husband will be home to finish working on the walls in our bathroom.  After our mirrors were taken down (so we could raise our vanities) it left some ugly sheetrock behind.  So, I bought some new mirrors to hang and he is going to repair and paint the walls first.  We will be replacing our floor and shower tile in there next. We will hire someone to do that! Once it's all done, I'll show the pics.

For now, I've made some changes to our family room that I wanted to share.

I got a new French style chair to go in front of the fireplace and a new clock over the mantel.

The old chair that was in here went in our bedroom.  The grey architectural piece that was over our mantel went into our half bath.  So, I'm making use of things in new places.

I also replaced our white painted coffee table with this rustic one from Restoration Hardware.  I love the reclaimed wood on top.  It's not as large as our other one so it gives us more space to walk around too.

I've been bringing in some more wood elements to the space to offset all of the white.

I'm replacing the lamps on the table behind the sofa and may move these up to our bedroom.  They should arrive next week.

My husband wants to hang shiplap on the fireplace wall too.  He will try that after he's done with all the other million projects I've got him working on.  Ha!  He got a new job so he's not home as often as he was.  So I have to schedule him on his off days.

And, in the near future, I'm making another big change to my kitchen!  You can thank my ruined crazy shaped undermount sink for that.

Hope you all have a great weekend.  I'll be working in our bathroom and taking things to the consignment store if you need me.

Great changes and love the new chair. I'm afraid to buy chairs for our great room online. Worried they won't be comfy enough. This chair is going to be what style I would like. The coffee table is pretty too. Can't wait to see the bath

You have been a busy little woman! I really like all your new goodies.

I would be interested in your experience with a consignment store. I have just had a horrible one who sold my stuff and will not pay me! If you have a good experience, I wonder if it would be worth it for me to bring my pieces (that I still have) over from Birmingham.

Your new chair and clock are beautiful! What a nice coffee table too. We also used to have a larger coffee table and it was so nice to get a smaller one and have more room to walk around. I'm curious about your new kitchen project. Can't wait to see. :) And congrats to your hubby on the new job! By the way, I have your tenderloin recipe in my crock pot as we speak and my house smells so good! Thanks again for sharing!

It sounds like you whole house is getting a makeover, Kelly! The changes in your living room are lovely. Your coffee table is perfect with the shelf below for storage and your new chair fits right in to create a cozy seating area around your fireplace. Well done!
