I love the french farmhouse look with a few industrial elements thrown in. I plan on blogging about things I've done in my own home that fall into that style. I will take you along on some of my shopping trips too! Don't be surprised if you see a little doggie appear in some of my photos too. He follows me everywhere!
Today I wanted to share with you my front porch that I love to sit and read on during pretty weather. We've been fortunate enough to have beautiful weather lately.
Soon it will be time to change out my planters with pansies. They're looking a little frazzled by the heat we had all summer.
I have 3 three of these planters on the rails of my front porch. Right now, I have begonias, petunias and verigated vinca vine in them.
My fern by the front door is doing amazing though!
I recently bought the latest issue of Romantic Homes Magazine. It's for October. It's a very good issue this month!
Check out this beautiful farmhouse style kitchen! Be still my heart!
I have to tell you a very interesting story about finding this article in this magazine. A couple of days ago, I went to a flea market/antique store with my mom and sister. I happened to pick up an old magazine from Country Living that was for sale. I flipped through it and saw a home that I really liked and thought about buying the magazine. I decided not to, but later regretted not buying it. It was an old issue from 3 years ago. Well, when I went grocery shopping a few days later, I found the exact same home featured in this new Romantic Homes Magazine! I couldn't believe my eyes. It must've been fate. Now you know why I love this issue so much.
So now, I'm going to sit on my front porch and read...........this magazine.........about that home.............and dream.
Hope you enjoyed my first post and will continue to follow along on my new adventure in this exciting blog world. Go relax and enjoy some reading this weekend!
Also...........I must not forget! I want to wish my sweet sister a VERY Happy Birthday today!!!! I'll be over for coffee and cake later. Ha! Remember if there is a candle in it, the calories don't count!!
~Kelly~

Hi Kelly, it's great to see another creative lady share in blogland. Savvy Southern Style has been one of my favs and, I cannot wait to learn from those creative genes that run thru your veins! I would love to have my own blog, but my photography skills are, are,...well, let's just say I don't possess any of those skills. My husband and I recently moved a 1940's cottage on our 22 acres here in Texas and I live about 20 minutes from the world renowned Round Top, Texas, aka, a flea marketeers paradise, so I have the subject matter but a blog without photos is just another example of wishful dreaming. In the meantime, 'looking forward to many more posts. Best of luck!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on starting your new blog, Kelly! I just know that you're going to have a lot of fun here in blogland. Will you be adding a subscribe via email option? All the best! Suzy
