I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. We are having the most glorious weather in GA today! It's cooler than usual and definitely feels like Fall.....finally.
I recently removed some of the summery flowers in my home to make way for more suitable decor for the cooler months ahead. I don't decorate inside with the traditional Fall decor that I did outside. I still prefer a more neutral palette.
First up is my fireplace mantel. Just a few changes were made.
I replaced my peony bouquet with a few amber colored flowers then added a small white pumpkin and wheat sheaf tied with black ribbon.
On a little table next to a chair I replaced the greenery with pheasant feathers. Then I replaced my other peony bouquet with some faux green fruit on a bed of moss.
My sofa table got a makeover too. I had pink and white peonies in the basket, so I replaced them with some old books and an old bottle. I changed out the lamp base with one that has a more rustic finish.
And finally, I removed the fushia orchid that was on my coffee table and replaced it with a green topiary.
Oh, and I wanted to show you something I came across while out grocery shopping the other day. I always stop by the magazine section and lo and behold I spotted this new premiere issue!
Inside it has alot of great tips, but I especially loved the article about Sara Richardson living in her new farmhouse!
It's just perfection! It looks even better all lived in now.
Did you know that HGTV was going to come out with their own magazine? I sure didn't! How did I miss that?
As it gets closer to Halloween, I'll be sure to show pics of all the "scary" stuff I add to the outside of my house. It involves lots of creepy crawlies!

Kelly, your fall displays look wonderful!! You know I'm a sucker for the pheasant feathers!! I love how you've brought the Fall elements in, yet, kept your neutral decor. It's great!
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful Kelly! I love Halloween and started our mantel yesterday. I am going light this year LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love your fall touches!! I totally copied and stole your drop cloth window panel idea! I have been searching for something lighter for a while but never found what I wanted. I saw yours on Kim's blog, and thought it would work for me, and I love them! I really love the texture especially.
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful mantel! Love the feathers...I like how the topiary in the urn looks so rustic and the contrast in colours between the green and the gray, you could keep that one out all year. I think it would look really nice at Christmas too!
Enjoy your weekend!
All the Best,
Christine
Oh, me again... Thanks for the tip on the new hgtv magazine. I didn't know either but what a nice surprise. I love Sarah, can't wait to pick up a copy!

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI visited your blog today - I saw you on 'Stonehouse Living.' Your photos are so pretty and colorful. As I was scrolling down, I noticed your Fall decorations, and I loved them. Me and my daughters started a new blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. I would enjoy coming back to visit with you and seeing all your creative and wonderful ideas. Hope to hear from you, and have a lovely weekend.

Love your indoor fall look, too, Kelly!! White pumpkins are wonderful. I didn't know about the HGTV magazine! Gonna have to try to find that one! Thank you. blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteYour house looks great! I love the feathers!! I am not sure where to find some around here...but I think they are such a classic look for fall. My other fav is the urn with the topiary. I recently heard about the magazine that HGTV is putting out myself. Should be good!
ReplyDeleteThe feathers look so fine up there. I adore Sarah too. I acquired some Halloween things today-might keep-might sell them.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteYour fall nesting looks wonderful Kelly! I need to get me a copy of that magazine. Sarah Richardson is my favorite designer and I made curtains for my master bath window with the same fabric she used in her farmhouse bath!
ReplyDeleteHi, Kelly. Thanks for stopping by and for your comment on my Halloween decorations and quilts. They are actually photos from last year but I didn't want to miss the party at Midwestern Sewing Girl and I won't be decorating for Halloween until after our Thanksgiving this upcoming weekend. Hoping you have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYour mantel and vignettes look very elegant. I really like all the textures, perfect for Fall. Great tip on the HGTV magazine, I hope we can find it here in Canada because we are very proud of Sarah Richardson here in her home province.
ReplyDeleteThat pretty awesome about an HGTV mag. I love the computer screen but isn't it just so satisfying to hold a magazine in your hands??
ReplyDeleteWe have an old Boston Terrier named Rocky that is like my little almost blind side kick. Love that little guy.
Hey, I just read Kim's comment about you being "behind." So don't you feel better that I am even MORE behind? :)
ReplyDeleteYour new changes look great. I like your green topiary and the 'faux green fruit'/Osage oranges. Did you get the green fruit locally? I was planning on ordering some real ones online, but rather get them locally, if possibe. No, I didn't know HGTV had a magazine! I'm going to look for it. Thanks for the tip.Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYour fall home looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI came back to look at how you decorated with the feathers! I ordered some for myself...hoping they come soon. Then you will see them on my blog! Anyway, I also wanted to mention I signed up for the new HGTV magazine (a thing came in the mail about it)~hoping it is a good one.
