Hello everyone!
Have you ever looked at your furniture and noticed something that needs to be changed? Something small, but would be easy to change and not cost much money? That is what I noticed when I looked at this piece of furniture. I already painted it and distressed it a long time ago, but it still didn't feel quite right.
Here is the dresser before.
And here is the dresser now.
Do you see the difference? I added new hardware to the drawers. I found them at Hobby Lobby on sale and decided to try them out on this piece. I had been longing to replace the other knobs since they were a bit small for the dresser.
I think they look like a vintage door knob! They're egg shaped and can be used horizontally or vertically. I really like them.
I ended up spying another beautiful knob while I was there too.
Here is the table before. (Sorry it's so blurry)
And here it is after.
Let's get a better look at the knob.
Isn't she a beaut? I love it. I only paid $2 for it! Go run to Hobby Lobby and grab some while they're on sale this week. The larger black knobs were only $3/ea.
So............look around your house at your furniture and see if there are any changes you'd like to make that a little 'ol knob might just be the ticket!
Thanks for stopping by!

Oh yes, love the new hardware so much more, Kelly. You gave them just the right touch.
ReplyDeleteOK, I'm running over to Hobby Lobby!!! Of course my daughter and I always try to go on Sunday when they are closed. :( Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteXO Cindy
The change in knobs really made a difference. I love both styles of knobs. It's like pretty jewelry for furniture. We don't have a Hobby Lobby in my city!
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly: What a difference a knob makes!! Just one little tweak and it looks totally different and how good and fulfilled does that make you feel? My little town isn't the greatest for shopping and have to go to Sacramento to see a Hobby Lobby (maybe?). But, I'm going to try. Sounds like they have great prices...Judy at GoldCountryCottage
ReplyDeleteNice change for little money, Kelly! I have 12 knobs to change out and they never seem to have quite that many of the knobs I like. I keep checking though!
ReplyDeleteThe new hardware looks wonderful, Kelly! I especially like the oval knobs.
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage style knobs. They are perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe new knobs look great and I just love that dresser.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how something like a small knob can make such a difference? I love that clock-looking knob. On sale, huh? I know just the cabinet I could use these on. Adding Hobby Lobby to my list of weekend errands. Thanks for the tip! Your cabinets look great!
ReplyDeleteThose knobs on the dresser are so much better! I have a very similar clock knob on my built ins in my studio!
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned me selling Prairie Style...It is a great book and I love Fifi to pieces, but it is not my style so after enjoying it for a year, I thought I would pass it on.
It's all in the details Kelly. Looks fantastic! Both pieces. They really do look vintage.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... on some of my furniture the knob IS the best part! I need to change up the rest and keep the knob.

ok, so I am getting some serious envy of those of you who have Hobby Lobby's!!!! I just bought some knobs with the clock faces on them from Anthropologie (a little more brass embellishment on them, but otherwise the same) for $8 each! boo! It looks great on your table. Amazing how something so simple can really make a piece!
ReplyDeleteMuch better Kelly. We are fortunate to have an antique store here that sells antique hardware at very good prices. I am going there soon to buy lamp finials.
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage knobs.
ReplyDeleteToo bad that hobby lobby is too far away.
Kelly, Wow! I love the knobs on both pieces and they really enhance the chest and table. I'm headed to HL to see if there's anything I can use on a chest in my bedroom. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteA simple change can make a huge difference!! LOVE the new knobs!
