Leaning Mirrors

Hello everyone!

I love mirrors.  I have several in my home. However one, in particular, that is different from all the rest, is this leaning mirror.

As you can see, in this picture, it used to be in my master bedroom.  I loved it there.  But ever since I got my new chair for my family room, I contemplated using it in there instead.

You see, I've been looking at many inspirational pics on other peoples blogs.  Here are some examples.

This pretty blue one is from Dreamy Whites.

This one in the corner is from In the Fun Lane.

This gorgeous mirror framed in metal tiles is from Dusty Lu.

This extra large mirror is from a readers home featured on Cote de Texas.

And finally, this wooden mirror is from The Old Painted Cottage.

I've only used my mirror on a plain wall before without furniture surrounding it.  I once had it in the foyer and then in my bedroom.  But I'm really liking it in an unexpected place giving the room a more open and airy feeling.

So............here is mine now!

I'm liking it between my two white chairs and it reflects the fireplace across from it.

I even gave the coffee table a face lift with some purple hydrangeas.

So, what do you think about leaning mirrors?  Are you a fan?

Now, I'm going to have to buy another one to replace it in my bedroom.  I miss it already!

Today is my youngest son's birthday.  We are taking him to eat at Zaxby's tonight because that is his favorite.  Ha! We will be officially celebrating it with cake and presents this weekend though.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hi Kelly, love the look. Your mirror is gorgeous and really makes a statement. I think a leaning mirror really works in an intimate setting as it causes the room to "open up" and expand. great choice!

  4. Kelly, You found the PERFECT spot for your mirror. Mirrors are a favorite of mine, especially propping them so they can be moved in the future. Love how yours reflects back the rest of the room.

  8. That looks really pretty, Kelly! I love when they are used and positioned so that they reflect something pretty, too. I love the look myself, but would fear them falling over especially when my kids were young, and now that I have a granddaughter. So, I'll just admire them from afar and hang mine! : )

  14. I love mirrors, too! My house looks much larger because of them.

Happy birthday to your cute son! Is this the one that likes to sit on his feet as he uses the computer? I miss having kids at home and enjoyed having the GK's over for a 24 hour stay recently.

  18. I love oversized mirrors leaning against a wall. I made one for myself from an old arched top door that's 7 1/2 feet tall, so there's a lot of reflecting going on. :@

Yours looks perfect between your 2 white chairs. Good luck finding another!

  19. Oh yes, I am such a fan of oversized mirrors leaning on the wall...just as long as they are not in the way of kids and pets!..LOL!!...When I was re-styling a home years ago, I found this wonderful old mirror in a corner of an unused room...I brought it out in the living room and truly transformed the room..the owner truly loved it...

Great space for the mirror Kelly!! I love the reflection!
    Have a great weekend!!

  20. For someone who hates looking at herself in the mirror, I have an unnatural obsession with mirrors. I rarely meet one that I don't like. They're just so easy to decorate with!

Love your mirror in its new location. Happy birthday to your son!! We had a birthday party last weekend with 18 boys at the church gym. Kickball, basketball, dodgeball and cake. Easiest party ever :)
