Hello everyone!
Hope everyone is finding a way to stay cool and comfortable during this heat wave that almost half the country is experiencing. I've been doing a little bit of shopping amongst other things. One of the things that I've been wanting to do is change up the lamp shades in my dining room. Now, I hear your shrieks and gasps, but since I've been painting furniture grey and white and painting my walls white, I wanted lighter color lampshades in there instead of the dark brown. So, here is what I came up with.
I like this color better because it fits in better with the overall room. Remember my brown lampshades were chosen before the sideboard got painted. Now, these script patterned lampshades look right at home.
Did you notice that I changed what's in the center of my sideboard (again) too? Well, I'll show you where that went soon. I made a change in another room that I'm really loving! It involves the tureen that was featured in a recent post.
So, to go along with this inferno of heat that we've been experiencing outside, I'm lightening (even further) my home on the inside. Ha!
Thanks for stopping by!
~ Kelly~

ReplyDeleteThose are perfect. That does make a lighter feel. Didn't say where you found them.
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful! Where did you get them, Kelly? I would love to come sit in that rocker on your porch underneath that tree and have some cold iced tea with you.

I did love your other lampshades, Kelly, but I have to admit these look great! Maybe you could go to the other ones in the cooler months. This way they aren't gone altogether.
ReplyDeleteIt's hotter than blue blazes here too. We just got back from Lowes where I bought some spray paint so I could freshen up my outdoor wrought iron but it will have to be 7:00 tonight before I can stand to go outside and do anything!
ReplyDeleteLove your lighter look...wait until you see what I bought at the beach!
The new shades look great, Kelly, and the buffet looks so pretty there. Here in southern Ontario Canada we are also experiencing a heat wave. At least it is Canada Day long weekend and more people are home or enjoying the long weekend. Wishing you a great weekend too.
ReplyDeleteI can well imagine that the new, cooler look to your room actually makes you feel cooler too! Up here we are cold - it rained all night and the air is still full of mist and grey skies above. I wish we could combine your climate and ours and we'd come up with something approaching summer!
ReplyDeletedid you make the shades? they look good!

ReplyDeleteEverything you do is stunning Kelly! I love your style...if I said it once I said it twenty times..you should be getting your swatches of vintage shabby chic any day. Have a nice 4th....its 101 degrees in Boston, and we are still packing for the trip at 6pm. I was lucky to get a big french armoire this morning at auction and also a big giant frenchy gold mirror...
