My Hay Rake

Hello everyone!

Well, I'm officially trying to post my blog using Google Chrome now.  Let's see how this turns out!  I'll let you know at the end of this post.  LOL!

I have been eyeing old hay rakes for a few years now.  Most of them were very expensive or not exactly what I was looking for.  I stumbled upon one the other day at an antique store and decided it was time to bite the bullet.  I snatched it up and brought it home with me.

Then, I had to decide where to put it.  I tried many places.  I thought it would go in my kitchen or dining room at first.  I even had it in my foyer for a brief moment.  Then, it ended up in a better spot, in the sitting room.  I liked it leaning up against the secretary in there.  It just seemed to fit.

So here it is in all it's vintage glory!

You can see that it is rather large.  Now you know why it was a challenge to find the right spot for it.   Look how old it is.  It is obviously hand made.

At first, I worried it was too rustic or primitive to go in my home, but then I liked the fact that it was a nice contrast to some of the other items I have.  I think that is what I like about it the most.  I don't want everything to be old or everything to be elegant.  I want a mix. That keeps things interesting.

I decided to move my striped runner in here too.  I just folded it in half.  I liked it against the grey.

So, if anyone needs some hay put out, I guess I've got the rake for you!

Now, my verdict on Google Chrome is..............SUCCESS!  It is slightly different than what I was accustomed to, but it did allow me to load pictures and it downloaded them quickly.  Score!  So, hopefully, this problem is solved for good.

Thanks for stopping by!

~ Kelly ~

Bravo! I have been using Google Chrome for some time now and have found it to be easy.
I like your hay rake and I'll bet you'll have a lot of fun with it, through the seasons.

A Hay rake... my first. Sorry Big City kid :-/ Never even pondered how hay got 'put out' :-) You should have seen my face the first time I saw a hay bale. No, for real. I was wondering what those big cylindrical things were sitting in the field.
Luv it leaning against the secretary.. rustic meets elegance. Perfect!
Cheers, Gee

Love that hay rake! I would love to find ones of those too. I switched over to Google Chrome a couple of months ago after getting so frustrated on how long it would take to upload pics and do a post with internet explorer! I haven't looked back since...I always use Chrome now.

Hay Kelly! I mean, Hey Kelly! Love the rake. Very cool, and I like the mix of rustic and elegant too. Aren't you the one who puts straw in your yard? Or was that your sister? Now you've got a beautiful accessory that could also come in handy :)

I really like the wooden rustic rake mixed with your painted furniture and whites. It adds great contrast and interest. Also a piece that can travel since it props nicely.

I like Goggle Chrome, too. Faster and easier - but it took me a LONG time to get rid of the White Smoke tool bar!! I did it, though!!

I always enjoy seeing your home!

(Let's try this again without a typo. I'm sharing the keyboard tray with a napping cat.)

I had to switch to Chrome last weekend when I couldn't upload pictures on my blog. Slowness wasn't the issue. The button was just plain missing! On the other hand, I was having problems with browser hijacking on my favorite blogs. I kept running virus scans, and nothing was found. Changing to Chrome solved that too.

Good purchase! I think adding a really rustic piece here and there is a great idea. Very interesting and it adds tons of texture. I'm glad you switched to Chrome. Who needs any added aggravation these days? Enjoy your Sunday and have a good week!

That rake could be used to get kids motivated to clean their rooms, too. hehe Love it!

The thing I don't like about Google Chrome is that it changes the appearance of fonts on blogs. I guess I'll just have to get used to it.
