Hello everyone!
I know I've mentioned my love of lamps and pillows, but I've also got a love of white dishes. In fact, I don't think I can fit another one in the house! LOL!
They don't have to be made of ironstone and they don't have to be vintage. They don't have to be from another country either. I just like good ole fashioned plain white dishes. Simple enough huh?
They are very easy to find when you loosen the requirements for them too! I have found them EVERYWHERE. So lets take a little tour, shall we?
The most obvious place to start would be the kitchen.
These are our everyday dishes. I actually have more than this in some other cabinets, but the white ones go here. Looks like it's time to empty my dishwasher since this cabinet is not very full right now.
This is a display above the stove/oven combo. It's just a mixture of pitchers and tureens.
In the dining room...........
I have this pine hutch on the wall and I've filled it with plates, gravy boats, teapots and creamers.
I recently changed up the sideboard in my dining room too by adding this vignette of white dishes. See? I have plenty!
In the sitting room.........
I hung these plates with ribbon on each door panel of my secretary. I really love how this looks. I used to have little boxwood wreaths here, but I have moved them to other places.
On the wall, close-by, I hung some white platters. My old hay rake looks right at home keeping them company. These platters show up better in person, by the way.
And finally, the family room..........
This is my favorite collection. I love this glass armoire and so some of my favorite pieces went in it. I know you've seen it a dozen times!
The best part about decorating with white dishes (for me) is that they don't look cluttered when massed together. Some collections with a lot of color or pattern look too busy to me, but white dishes are soft and subtle. They are both functional and pretty to look at which is my favorite kind of decor.
Do you like white dishes too? Do they have to be old and considered a collectible for you to buy them?
Thanks for stopping by!

All your white dishes look gorgeous!! Food definitely looks best on white dishes! I'm looking for some new ones to use for everyday, but I haven't found just the right ones yet.
ReplyDeleteI love white dishes too Kelly. I have a good bit of ironstone but if it's white I think food looks better on it no matter the age. Your pitchers and tureens are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou display your white dishes well Kelly. I do have white dishes, that are my "good" dishes that I use for fancy gourmet meals with company. Food always looks better on white dishes, I think. My every day dishes are red and blue transferware dishes.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE white dishes and I'm right there with you....they don't have to be old or considered to be a collectible before I buy them. I have them scattered around my home too. Your many displays of them are beautiful. Enjoy your day, Gail
ReplyDeleteWhat a luvly collection Kelly. I luv dishes period. Sigh, I have a wee problem :-) But white ones are my face. I just gave away a service for 8 to a young family that needed dishes. They were beautiful... but they needed them more than I do.
ReplyDeleteI must say, I do prefer vintage dishes, but after seeing your collection, I am having a rethink.
Thanks for sharing.
Hugs, Gee
Kelly...I love white pitchers and dishes too. Last count, I had 80 some pitchers!! They are in my kitchen, the dining room, and the living room. Even have a couple small white pitchers that sit in white bowls in our hall bathroom. No...mine don't have to be ironstone or old for me to collect them, but I do have some that are ironstone and/or old.
ReplyDeleteYou have displayed yours beautifully!!
hugs,
Cindy
You have an amazing collection....and it looks absolutely beautiful! I collect antique ironstone but our every day dishes are not antique. I can never seem to pass by anything white either! LOL

the white dishes look great with the rest of your house color scheme. I only have a set of 4 porcelain rectangular dishes. It was a wedding gift from the lady I worked for when I was a teenager. She owns a Restaurant called Antico Giardino ("The Antique Garden"). I used them last week for dinner when we had guests over.
ReplyDeleteI love white dishes, too--those are beautiful~
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly! Oh, you do have a wonderful collection of white dishes. I'm like you, I don't care if their 'real' or not, they're jut beautiful. Love all of your pretty set ups.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I'm also a white dishaholic. I even have white dishes in my bathroom. I enjoyed looking at yours. You've inspired me to continue on hunting for white dishes! Your collection is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou have quite the collection Kelly and you have them displayed beautifully! I love the pine shelf in your dining room.
ReplyDeleteKelly- Your white dishes are all just beautiful! They group together wonderfully well, don't they? That plate rail piece in your dining room is just awesome! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful collection! Have you always loved white dishes or is that recent? I am wanting some pretty white pitchers to mix in with my red and white transferware. I'm thinking Homegoods. :)
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful collection of white dishes, Kelly! They sure do look pretty and fresh everywhere you have them displayed.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Oh my, you do have a lot. Beautifully displayed, of course.
ReplyDeleteI love both old and new Kelly, mine are from Goodwill, Target and TJMaxx so if it's white and I like the shape and pattern I buy it:)
ReplyDeleteYour displays are beautiful, you have some wonderful pieces!
You have my heart!!! I am just crazy over white ironstone in particular but white china in general always makes me stop and look.
ReplyDeleteI love how you have displayed your white dishes! I love them as well but most are mine are new, even though at thrifty prices! I rarely come across white ironstone when I'm out and about. I'm a follower! Blessings, Tammy
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I like the way you hung the plates with ribbon! I may borrow this idea when I get back home.
ReplyDeleteYour every photo is so pretty! I LOVE looking at your home!
Your collection of white dishes is so very very pretty! You have some beautiful pieces and so many pitchers and tureens. I am still collecting and have quite a few, though not nearly as many as you. Our everyday dishes are white, plus I have a china cabinet in the dining room full and a growing collection on the hutch in the kitchen. New or vintage I love them all. Many are also thrifted. Besides my everyday Corelle, one of the best new purchases was 24 caterers plates on clearance that we use instead of paper plates at birthday parties and bbqs. We have saved so much over paper plates and they are sturdy and pop right in the dishwasher.
ReplyDeleteLove, love white dishes and lamps and pillows too!! All my favorites. Your blog is so beautiful to visit. Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteKelly you have a beautiful collection of white dishes!! I have that same addiction LOL! Yes they are everywhere.I just saw some really pretty white dishes, pitcher and platters at target!

I've got 2 sets of white dishes because I think food looks better served on white. Unfortunately they are inside kitchen cabinets and the buffet where you can't see them. Now if I had a glass front cupboard like yours.....love it!
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly, Your white dishes are beautiful and you have them displayed so pretty!
ReplyDeletexx, Sherry
You have a great collection, I really love all the pitchers and platters you have, too. And they are really displayed so nicely! I love white dishes, too, and since I'm not much of a thrifter, I buy them new if they really strike me...usually in sets of four, sometimes eight. I love buying salad plates in patterns to set the table differently sometimes with the white.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
I have dishes of all colors, usually two of most. But I like to eat on one of four of my white dishes. You have a very lovely collection! And I love how you hung those with fabric. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Love those white dishes of yours! I've recently started my own collection of white and I'm hooked! They seem to make everything look fresh and clean!
ReplyDeleteI love white dishes - all things white actually! Love all your displays - so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour collection of white dishes are beautiful, Kelly.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great collection of white dishes Kelly. Ohhhh love all the white treasures you have.
ReplyDeleteKris
Too many white dishes? Never! You have just enough....for now.....until you find the next just-perfect piece for your collection!
ReplyDeleteYour white dishes are so pretty. My favorites are in the armiore. Yummy!
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly, Yes, I love white dishes! I have quite the collection too. I really enjoy seeing how you display yours.
ReplyDeleteAll of your white dishes are beautiful, Kelly!! Love all the different ways you have them displayed throughout your house. I love white dishes, and not white dishes and any kind of dish at all! LOL! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeletelooooove white dishes (also love transferware) and love how you've displayed them all. I am hoping, with my kitchen reno, that I have a spot where I can display more dishes.
ReplyDeleteLots of great ideas for white dishes! I don't really have any white ones, just a couple big platters and my everyday dinner plates are RL Boxwood pattern. No pattern just white. But all my collectable dishes are floral or transferware. It is harder to decorate with them, as they need to be grouped properly. I love how you put them like sculptures...and the ones on the secretary doors~that is a very cute idea!
ReplyDeleteThere is something about white on white ... I enjoyed seeing all your white collections. And never thought of opening the secretary doors and hanging a plate on them --really nice!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you hung the plates from your doors...I may have to copy that! I really like to decorate with ribbon and this is a great idea. Everything looks so clean and organized...adore it all!
ReplyDeleteLove your white dishes..I used to have them..no more..
ReplyDeleteI do like white dishes too, I have lots of plates - you know for smashing in mosaics - but wonder what would happen if I put them all together as a display? Yours might be inspiring me.
ReplyDeleteBLiss
Kelly...always love seeing your white dishes so beautifully displayed....and I just love the idea of how you hung them!!...Looks fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteGreat collection and very pretty!!
ReplyDeleteCynthia
I'm in love with white dishes as well. I have some ironstone and some vintage ones but I don't really care if they are old or new if I like them I buy them. I love decorating with them and like you said you can put a whole bunch together and it doesn't look too busy or messy. I love the first picture with the darker cabinet with all your everyday dishes. Everywhere you have displayed them looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Love the gray too!
ReplyDeleteI love your glass armoire too!! you did such a great job painting it....you need to fly out here and help me paint my armoire...haha...
ReplyDeleteOh, for the love of white dishes. Your collection is so beautiful and your displays are perfection. The white dishes look so lovely with the gray furniture. I've got to get some more white dishes now for sure! I'm a new follower. I love your blog! Blessings, Angie
ReplyDeleteYour white dish collection is wonderful Kelly. I have a love white dishes too. Like you, I've collected them from hither and yon, whether new or old.

ReplyDeleteThanks for finding my blog through Wow Us Wednesday. I love your blog and am now a new follower!!! Love that your hubby is a firefighter too.
Kris
You've got some great white pieces, Kelly! I don't have any rules about collecting whites ~ if they are pretty and catch my eye that's it.
ReplyDeleteI really, really like white dishes and yours are just beautiful! :-)
ReplyDeleteI would be one of those cluttered with color people, because I just really like color. I do, however, think your collection of the white dishes is so pretty, and you've done such a lovely job of displaying them.
ReplyDeleteI'm a white dish lover too!
