Cabinet Makeover

Hello everyone!

I wanted to share a cabinet makeover in my kitchen.  I am replacing some of the black painted pieces in my kitchen with grey.  It flows better with the rest of the house and makes the space lighter, which I like.  I'm still keeping some black in my kitchen though.  The first thing I changed were the cabinets that store my dishes.

This area of my kitchen doesn't get as much light, so I'm very happy with the lighter color.

I like that this area looks like a hutch above the counters.

On the opposite side of the room, above the stove, I repainted the inside of the cabinets grey as well.

Then I repainted this little table that holds baking items.

I still have one more item in here to repaint.  I'm leaving the computer cabinet black though.
In case you are wanting to know the paint color I used it is Sherwin Williams, Fawn Brindle.

Also, today is a special day for me and my husband.  It is our 26th wedding anniversary!  He gave me these pretty flowers yesterday since he has to work today (24 hrs @ the fire dept.) and we will go out tomorrow night to celebrate.

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend!  We are celebrating early (at my inlaws) because hubby has to work on Easter.  Boo Hoo!  That's the price you pay for being married to a fire fighter.  So, it will be a busy weekend for us.  I've got some baking I must do in preparation for it too.

Thanks for stopping by!

~ Kelly ~

  5. I love this color, Kelly! You did a fabulous job. I like that you have a plate rack in the open hutch~like cabinet, it's different than just stacking.

Happy Anniversary! We hit 26 years in December! Celebrate!

  6. Congratulations! 26 years is wonderful! Wishing you MANY more! I do like how the china area looks like a hutch! Great job! I'm lightening up everything too...I think it's an age thing (not that you're old) but colorful interiors seem to wear on you after awhile. I LOVE color but with a neutral background I feel I can add in practically anything, anytime and then take it away when I'm tired of it!

  21. The grey is lovely. Happy Anniversary to you both. Many of our neighbours are police, fire fighters and essential service shift workers and I always appreciate the holidays they work (I used to be a nurse so I know how many holidays and activities are missed or rearranged.) Wishing you a great Easter weekend too.

  34. Happy anniversary, Kelly! I love the gray on your cabinets. I am in the process of doing a little updating on my kitchen and the picture of your "hutch" has inspired me to try and duplicate that great look. On another note, can you please let me know where you got the wire pendant in the background on that same picture? I just love it!

  36. I put all my brushes away, and paint too. The trauma of my chairs is still to fresh in my mind. So till I heal and can again look at something and think "hey I want to paint that", I will live through the painting of others. It looks great.
