Getting My Green On

Hello everyone!

With the time change happening this weekend (ugh!) and the sun shining brightly, I decided it was time to fluff up the house with a little greenery.  So, I made a few changes using plants around the house.

It all started when I decided to fluff up the centerpiece on my dining room table.  I added some (faux) flowers in my urn along with the wispy fern greenery that was already in it.

It says instant Spring to me!

Then I filled an urn in the family room with some more wispy greenery.  This one is a (faux) maiden hair fern.

Over in the sitting room, I added a white urn with a (faux) asparagus fern.

Can you tell I like faux?  LOL!

And last but not least, I placed a little wooden planter with a moss covered sphere on top in my wire basket in the family room.  I made that moss covered ball too.  I just used a grapevine ball that I already had and hot glued sheet moss all over it.  Easy peasy (but messy)!

So now I have a "little" Spring color around the house to offset all of the neutrals everywhere else.  I like it!

Hope all of you have a wonderful "Spring" like weekend!

Thanks for stopping by.

  19. I love all things FAUX!!!! I am resolved that I won't be decorating for Easter this year....but I AM going home tomorrow so maybe I can pull some SPRING out of the storage building (that's where ALL my seasons live!) and brighten up the corner where I live - at times - for a few days - ever once in awhile!

  21. Your home is always so beautiful!! I love all your greenery! I've been adding a lot of real grenery to my home, but it remains to be seen wether or not it stays alive! :)
p.s. Got another email from Joss & Main and they ran out of both sets of prints I ordered. boo hoo
They gave me a $10 credit, but I would much rather have the prints. :(

  30. Love your addition of green, Kelly! I go the faux route, too, since I don't do too well with houseplants anymore. Some of them look very good anyway, so except for a little dusting now and again I don't have to fuss with them.
