Duluth Fall Festival 2014

Hello everyone!

This weekend I went to a Fall festival in a nearby town.  It was a lot of fun.  There were lots of homemade crafts and the typical "fair" food.  But most of all, there was great weather and fun shops to scour.

The town is very cute with old buildings and even a railroad going through it.  The main area of the town has been revamped with a park like setting, including an outdoor concert area.

There was even an Elvis impersonator performing!

Do you ever get tired of seeing that????

I took my camera with me (of course) and thought I'd share some of the homemade crafts that caught my eye.

These are homemade hummingbird feeders made out of various glass containers.

And these are bird feeders made from Ball glass jars.

These were cute.  They were made from things you can find in nature, such as pine cones and sticks.

I thought these rustic birdhouses were cute with the metal roofs.

But these were my favorite. No two were alike.

What I enjoyed the most was going into the local shops along the sidewalks.  They were full of unique things.

See what I mean? And since these shops are open year round,  I can visit them whenever I want.

I hope to go to more festivals before Fall is over.

Have you been to any Fall festivals lately?

~ Kelly ~

  6. Thank you Kelly for taking the time to visit my place your words encourage all that we are over here at BurlapLuxe.

I love this event and the shop amazes me! I so wish I lived closer to artsy events as this one, our town is smaller then most and a mix of less shabby, salvage artist then most.

This was a beautiful share, yet made me jealous that I was not there shopping with you:)

A beautiful Sunday to you and it's week to follow moving right into a bit more beauty fall offers.

  8. What a cute town. Reminds me of ours. We had a little bit of everything going on this week-end. So much that some of the locals complained big time on Face Book, hah.
I love the bunny in the bird bath and those owls.

  13. I don't know if I've seen a good Fall Festival in a long time. What some great things! I could have shopped the shops all day. Some really great booths. Everything around her is 1990 country stuff that is so out of date. Ughh. We have a Kaolin festival every year (Kaolin/chalk is our industry) with a parade, etc. I want to see painted furniture and hand made pillows and fabric pumpkins, crafty new stuff. Maybe this year it will be better. Here's hoping!

  14. The shops look great Kelly. CC visits Duluth pretty often for the Korean food. Also she is having a bridesmaids dress made there. Ugh-so expensive but at least she is not interested in getting married.

  18. Those stores look awesome! Earlier this month I went to a Fall Farm Museum craft show. It is a bit too much the same every year. This past weekend our artist friends from work hosted a small but fantastic fine artisan/foodie type outdoor show they call 'buzzfest', on their country property. It was a beautiful day and so much to see and taste.

  23. Kelly, how fun ! I'm just now catching up on some blogs. We were in Duluth a few weeks ago so the title caught my eye and I had to look at the pictures to see if it was the same town. One store you went into, Smith's, belongs to my husband's cousin. We were there to surprise his mother for her 70th birthday. I'll have to pass along your blog to him so he can see the store is being blogged about! The fall festival was the weekend before we were there, so we missed it. We really enjoyed our trip through the mountains of Georgia!! You lucky girl!
