A Sad Weekend

Hello everyone!

My father in law (who had been battling lung cancer and heart failure) died suddenly last Friday.  He was in the hospital being treated for fluid on his lungs.  He was weak and had trouble breathing.  He started getting better (or so we thought) until Friday when they noticed he was struggling to breathe.  They had planned on moving him into the ICU, but God had other plans.  We believe a sudden heart attack took him.  It is a great loss for our family!  He will be memorialized on Tuesday.  



This poem touched our hearts as we found it after his death.


HE ONLY TAKES THE BEST

God saw that he was getting tired,
And a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around him
And whispered, "Come with me."

With tearful eyes we watched him suffer,
And saw him fade away
Although we love him dearly,
We could not make him stay

A golden heart stopped beating.
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.


Rest in peace JW, aka, "Papa".

    Oh Kelly....my heart just breaks for you. I can empathize with your feelings of sadness, loss, and pain right now. Cry. Have your moments of complete weakness that bring you to your knees. And....embrace it...as it will help you heal in the difficult days ahead. Know that God is feeling your pain and crying with you...but he is also loving you and holding you all close.
