Candy Canes and Wreaths

Hello everyone!

Well, it's official.  Just one more week till Christmas.  The countdown is on!  We will actually be celebrating on Christmas Eve though since my husband has to work on Christmas day.  I guess you really know how important a job is when you can't even get Christmas day off!  This should be his last Christmas to ever work since he plans on retiring next year.

I thought I would show you the outside of our house decorated for Christmas.  I used a theme of candy canes and wreaths for it (like I have in years past).

This statuary was once inside, but I decided to move it outside onto the stone steps.

At night, a few spotlights give it just the right amount of light to bring it to life.

I hope that you are ready for Christmas now that we're in the home stretch.  I plan on doing some baking this weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Your house looks beautiful outside all decorated for Christmas. I still have to go to the grocery store and pick up stuff for Christmas dinner, other than that, I am all set.

  6. Kelley, Your home is beautiful. I really like the wreaths. I hate when people have to work on holidays...but where would we all be without them. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  9. Your house is gorgeous! I love the wooded lot and all the wreaths are so festive. I bet it's relaxing to sit on your porch and sip hot chocolate in the evenings. That's great that your hubby will get to retire next year! I'm sure he's excited about that and I know you'll be glad to have him home on the holidays.

  12. Beautiful Kelly. It will be so nice when your hubby will have the holidays off when he retires. I know all the holidays without them being firefighters. This year our SIL that is a firefighter and my daughter that is a nurse are off both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Miracle right there and such a gift this year. Enjoy your beautiful family. Merry Christmas.

  13. When I leave is there a basket of real candy canes by the door, you know so I can have a treat on my drive home? I like wintergreen ones.

  14. Your house looks so pretty lit up at night, Kelly! Up until a few days ago it was as green in northern MN as it is in your photos! We've celebrated many holidays on the following weekend when one of our daughters and her hubby worked in retail. It's not ideal, but it's being together that's important. Love the candy canes on your front door!

  15. I usually have a candy cane on my door, but I went with a Christmas stocking this year.

Everything looks lovely at your house as usual.

  16. Your home has great curb appeal and with the Christmas decor and lights is quite beautiful, Kelly. We have lots of nurses in our family (I was one many years ago), and a brand new firefighter grad, so we appreciate essential service workers. Hoping your Christmas is great and all the best in the New Year!
