Hello everyone!
I thought I'd show you the progress I've made with my powder room so far. It has been repainted in BM Wickham Gray. It is a very subtle gray and I'm happy with the results. I still need to replace the brass fixtures with chrome though. So, just overlook that for now.
You'll notice that the mirror looks different. In order to capture the look that I was going for, it needed to be painted white. I like how white and gray look together. I plan on adding a chrome towel ring on the wall beside the sink too.
I hung a cow portrait above the toilet and used a wire basket to hold paper guest towels.
This cow portrait became my inspiration for the overall style of the room. I wanted a feminine farmhouse style powder room with some industrial touches. But, where are the industrial touches? Here...........
I decided not to sell the bar stools that I once used in the kitchen. I used one in here. I topped it with a piece of burlap and a galvanized tub to hold toilet paper.
On the large back wall, I hung an over sized antique mirror that, at one time, hung above the fireplace mantel.
This room was a bit of a challenge to photograph due to all the mirrors! I tried to keep myself out of them. Ha!
So there she is in all her new "gray" glory! So, as soon as I get the rest of the new finishing touches (chrome faucet, light fixture, tp holder, towel ring and wire wastebasket) I'll be sure to show those. They should be purchased very soon!
To see what this powder room used to look like, go here.
On another note, I haven't been able to comment on every one's blogs that I usually do. I know a lot of people have been having this same problem. I am going to try some changes on my end to see if that corrects the problem. In the meantime, please know that I'm not ignoring any of you if you haven't seen me comment!
Thanks for stopping by!

It looks great!! Love that color of grey.
ReplyDeleteI have been having problems commenting (or even looking at people's blogs) too! Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Anyhow, your bathroom is looking great. In fact, I actually really like the brass faucet-you know that brass is making a comeback, and I think it looks classy in there =)
ReplyDeleteI liked the 'before' but I LOVE the 'after' even MORE!! I am resting before I gear up to paint my hall. It is papered with 'Wallpaper for Troubled Walls' - no joke! It is paintable paper and I am itching to change from the burgundy sponge paint to a gray like you used!
ReplyDeleteYour bathroom turned out just perfect!!
I loved the mirror before, and I really love it now. You're right, Kelly. It works perfectly with the grey walls. Everything looks great. Love all your decorative touches.
ReplyDeleteI love the mirrow. I also like the contrast of the white and the gray.
ReplyDeleteI had problems earlier with commenting. I did get your comment, thanks.
Love the farmhouse + industrial vibe!

Would you think of doing a bronze faucet? That could look cool if you are going for a bit of industrial...I love it all! I think the mirror looks great white and the paint color is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe color looks great. I love the industrial elements you added. Can't wait to see it when you change the brass out.
ReplyDeleteYour powder room looks so pretty, Kelly! I love that you used the art for inspiration, but I'm thinking that cow is actually a bull ;) I also really like how you tied in the industrial elements. A great look with the mirrors and the little towel too. I bought some grey paint for our powder room a few weeks back and it is on my very long list.
ReplyDeleteKelly, I like the before and the after. Both are great!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great Kelly, I love it, much prefer the after look. I saw your blog for the first time tonight coming from No Minimalism here. I love the soft tones, gorgeous and restful.
