Hello everyone!
The other day, I won a wonderful giveaway from Penny at The Comforts of Home. I love reading decorating magazines and that is what she was giving away! I was thrilled when she said I was the winner. You see, I'm a bit of a magazine addict. I have an entire file system set-up with folders breaking down various decorating styles and rooms. Inside those folders are cut-outs from magazines. That way, I can refer back to my favorite pages and look at them again if necessary.
Just look at what came to my door!
Several back issues of Country Home magazine. I just loved that magazine while it was in circulation.
I immediately began flipping through them to mark the ones I wanted to look at first. That's how I roll! Ha! Here are just a few of my favorites.
Carrie Raphael's home
Atlanta Bartlett's home
A cottage style bedroom
An artist's cottage
So, as you can imagine, I will be busy looking at these for a long time!
Thank you Penny! If you haven't visited Penny's blog before, I encourage you to do so. She has a beautiful country home of her own and often shares many home projects on her blog. You can find it here.
Hope you have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!
~ Kelly ~
Oh, you know I am such a magazine or decorating books addict, too. Just can't get enough. Lucky you to win those back issues.
ReplyDeleteI miss Country Home!
ReplyDeleteI too am a "collector".
Congrats on winning these, Kelly!
Congrats on your win...how wonderful. You are a girl after my own heart...I love reading and have a vast collection of magazine subscriptions too. The inspiration from these magazines is overwhelming at times with so much to look at it makes my head spin with ideas. Drooling is probably my biggest problem...that and looking at you and your sister's home.
ReplyDeleteMorning Kelly!
ReplyDeleteGlad you love the magazines....thanks for the mention of my blog.
Hugs,
Penny
That is a great giveaway~as I suffer from being a magazine-aholic myself! I really enjoyed those Country Homes mags...
ReplyDeleteLuck you!! I could spend hours looking thru those!
ReplyDeleteIt was such a great magazine, Kelly! I miss it, too. I know that you will enjoy looking through them. I wish I had kept some of mine {and all my Romantic Homes, too}, but when we moved, magazine collections were not an option to pack and bring.
ReplyDeleteI loooove magazines too! Looks like a great prize you won =)
ReplyDeleteI think I have some really old ones, like 25 year old ones unless I went through and ripped out what I liked and tossed them? I might have done that to make myself feel better for hanging on to old magazines.

You are so lucky! I don't save magazines or clippings because I have so much clutter as it is!! So it must be wonderful to have these older issues of a great magazine!! I like your idea of clipping your favorite's. Maybe I can start doing that.
ReplyDeletePenny is a wonderful lady! I met her last spring when I was down in North Carolina. We had loads of fun!
XO,
Jane
Oooohs and aaaaaahs will continue for awhile is my guess!! Love every single one of those rooms! Enjoy! blessings ~ Tanna
ReplyDeleteWhat a great prize! You have already picked out wonderful inspirations! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteHow much fun to look at back issues of a favorite magazine. I have a "collection" of magazines, too...some from the '90s if you can believe that. Have a great weekend and a fun time reading.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky girl you are!!!! Looks like you got some fabulous issues!

Oh how I miss that magazine...wish I had kept all my issues...lucky girl you are, enjoy! x0
ReplyDeleteLucky you! I love home magazines but can't find any good ones here anymore. My faves used to be British mags (because they were cheaper) -- Country Homes & Interiors and Homes & Antiques but haven't seen one of those in this country in forever. :/ Enjoy! Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on winning! I'm a bit of a magazine addict too. I need to go through mine and donate the ones I no longer use. Ever since I discovered Pinterest, I can keep all my ideas organized online! Now I'm a Pinterest addict! I hope fine books with hardcovers and glossy magazines never go away. Although I love reading online, nothing replaces the feel of a good book or a nice magazine.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful weekend!

Kelly....I found some old Country Living ones in Florida for a quarter each and snatched them up......Still looking at them and folding down the corners!
ReplyDeleteJackpot!!! My old "Country Home" magazines are like gold to me. It was my favorite magazine during the years that ME was involved. congrats on your win- those are keepers!!
