Hello everyone!
I hope you've been having a nice weekend. Mine has been good and bad. The bad is that I now have a sinus infection from my allergies and my husband is starting to suffer with them too. But, since I'm not one to let that get me down, I decided some retail therapy was needed. Doesn't that always make you feel better?
I went shopping at a nearby antique mall and did not come home empty handed. One of the items I found was this very old wooden chair with peeling, chippy paint.
Isn't it the cutest thing? I decided to put it in my foyer next to my chest. I added a pillow to it (because all my chairs seem to have one). Ha!
Here is a close-up of the paint.
See all that chippy goodness?
I know that the pillow is a little big for the chair, but for now I'm enjoying that pattern in it. I'm just going to have to break a rule on this one! Ha!
In future posts, this week, I'll show you some more stuff I brought home with me. I found some things that I love for my kitchen. Also, since I've been avoiding going outside (with the pollen) I've been rearranging vignettes in my home everywhere. You know how it is when you bring something new home and then everything else suddenly needs to be changed. So I'll be sharing all of that with y'all this week. Stay tuned.......
Thanks for stopping by!

Great chair, Kelly! I always come home with something when I go to the local antique mart. Sometimes, retail therapy is just what you need!
ReplyDeleteThat is one awesome chair with just the right amount of chippiness. Looks good in the foyer.
ReplyDeleteGreat chippy chair. Yes, the pillow is a bit big for it. I think it would be cute without it, but of course you are seeing it in person.

Thank goodness I don't suffer with allergies anymore, I used to but when I had my first baby they dissappeared!

A trip to the antique shop can cure just about anything. Especially if you find something good and chippy! Perfect next to the wood dresser.

ReplyDeleteJust wondering though.....if the paint is chippy and possibly lead, can you seal it so that your little granddaughter will be safe. Asking this for my info as well.
Okay, you didn't know you had a granddaughter.....I saw your first comment and got mixed up....I thought I was commenting on Kathy's blog. I do have an excuse because I have some sort of virus..... Oh well, maybe this will make you laugh. I really did want to know if you had to worry about the paint.
