Hello everyone!
Lately, I have fallen in love with purple lilacs. However, I recently discovered white lilacs are just as pretty, especially when mixed with blue larkspur. I found these "faux" flowers and decided to make a small bouquet for my secretary. It is a pleasing mix, if I do say so myself! I love the fluffiness of the lilacs mixed with the spiky larkspur.
I have quite an affinity for purple, white and grey mixed together!
It just screams summer to me and is so feminine.
Since these are not real, they will last forever. This is the only way I can have them, too, since they are not native to my area.
You may recall that a beautiful purple orchid (that was real) graced the same spot here on my secretary. Unfortunately, it is not doing so well right now. Some of the flowers began falling off. I've been careful not to over water it (as many of you advised). I'm trying to save it, so in its place are these non-real flowers that I have better luck with! Ha!
Do you have a favorite flower combination?
Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful colors with all your gray. Filling the bottom with shells would be great, too to cover the bottom of the stems.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I had no idea that was the name of those white flowers too! Have a great week :o)

Pretty Kelly. I was once given an orchid and kept it for a few years before its demise. It is hard not to over water. I do much better with real ivy:}
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Kelly. At work we have a lilac tree that has purple on one side and white on the other half. For years we have been fortunate to take clippings from its plentiful branches, but last summer an over zealous custodian trimmed it way too much. It seems to be fighting back but the blooms are not as dramatic this year.
ReplyDeleteLovely job of combining larkspur and white lilacs.... they look so pretty together on your secretary...love how you added the magnifying glass in your vignette. The white slip-covered chairs with burlap pillows are looking gorgeous in your room...loving it!Thanks for inspiring!Have a wonderful week!~Poppy

ReplyDeleteYour bouquet is beautiful Kelly. I love the color combination you used.
ReplyDeleteRoses and honeysuckle are my favorites. Both grow in my front yard. I am actuallu cutting one rose bush down but all the others are blooming nicely. I want to get a 'Seven Sister' bush to replace the one I am digging up - next spring!
ReplyDeleteYour post has inspired me to cut a fresh bouquet! I will put it in one of my 'clean' rooms......house cleaning this week!!
Lovely post....as always!
Bummer on the orchid, Kelly, but maybe you can save it. I've heard they can be difficult to keep up. Your fauxs look great; love the colors.
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly: Pretty combination of flowers and looks really pretty on your desk. I have a housefull of faux plants and do get embarrassed sometimes when I take photos but I can't keep anything alive in the house for any length of time so they do me and my pocket book fine..Happy Monday..Judy
ReplyDeleteVery pretty arrangement, Kelly! They look real and I love the color combo! Perfect on your secretary! :)

Kelly...love the "pop of purple" in the room...Such a showpiece..love it.....I love orchids...I always have at least one blooming in the house as they can last for a couple of months with their blooms...after they bloom I take it outside and "baby them" and they will eventually bloom again....Hmmm favorite color combo for flowers...yellow, white, and purple...such happy colors together...
ReplyDeleteI love your combination of flowers. I like hydrangeas, champagne roses, and blue delphiniums (I had them all for my wedding). Your secretary is just beautiful. I really like the color.
