Hello everyone!
Let me first say THANK YOU for all the sweet and wonderful comments you left me about my home tour. Y'all really know how to make a girl feel special! I am so touched by all of your kind words.
Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. It has been steamy hot here! Wish it would rain and cool down just a bit. Feels like we're repeating our hot dry summer from last year.
Let's talk dishes...........
For years, I've collected white dishes. Some are for using and others for decorating.
I've collected quite a few pitchers, but have only recently begun collecting tureens.
I'm not picky.
They don't have to be ironstone.
They don't have to be from France.
They just have to be white.
However, if they are ironstone and from France ........ that's even better!
I love the different shapes I'm finding.
They make great plant holders too!
That curvy shape just makes me smile!
The other day, I stumbled upon another one that I just had to have. It has a different shape from the others I own.
Isn't it pretty?
It had a pretty tray that it sits in too. I love it so much that I placed in on my sideboard in my dining room. It has a place of prominence now! Ha!
I would love to find more to display on this wall hutch in there too.
When I go shopping, I keep my eyes open for them. I wonder what new shapes I will find out there.
Thanks for stopping by!

What a great idea to put a plant into a white tureen! I saw your picture with some of the other bloggers. Wish we could have met.
ReplyDeleteWhat a big beauty your new tureen is....it looks gorgeous on your sideboard too!!! I only have a handful of tureens and never seem to come across the really large ones. What a lucky find :o)

Kelly, I love all of your white dishes. I saw a white tureen, last week, very similar to the first one that you showed. It was at Salvation Army for $12.99. Not sure if that was a good price or not.
ReplyDeleteKelly you can't go wrong with white dishes. Love the shape of your soup tureen. Never thought of using them for planters. Hope you get rain soon.
ReplyDeleteYou have a gorgeous collection Kelly. Your home tour was amazing! You have a lot of fans out there.
ReplyDeletePretty collection, Kelly. You have just found a really special one. So pretty, and it is looking beautiful sitting on your sideboard..Happy Sunday..Judy
ReplyDeleteI love the shape of your newest tureen. I've got one very nice old tureen and one from the local thrift store that's not bad.
ReplyDeleteLove your new tureen Kelly, I found all of mine at GW except one I found at a yardsale for $5.00...love them too!
ReplyDeleteLoved looking at your home on Debbiedoo's, so very nice!
I like white dishes, too, Kelly. And, like you, they don't have to be ironstone but I sure like it. :)
ReplyDeleteI love tureens, too, Kelly. Mine also have to be white. I think they would make such a nice display on the top of kitchen cabinets, too. I saw a few at Goodwill a month or so ago; didn't get them. Of course, the next trip there they were gone. I love seeing them used to hold plants. The green with the white is just so classic looking to me. Yours are so pretty. I love the different shapes. Good luck to both of us in finding more! : )
ReplyDeleteKelly, I love all of our ironstone..you make me want to collect more....love, love the plant in the tureen!...and the new tureen looks great on the sideboard with those lamps that I love! Have a great day Kelly!

ReplyDeleteI'm not picky either when it comes to white dishes...my favorite tureen came from GW for $3.00! Your displays are wonderful. You definitely have an eye for symmetry which I so admire. Hope your week is lovely!
ReplyDeleteI used to have white dishes...So easy because you can always accent them with color...Love your collection..I'm sure you'll find more and more
ReplyDeleteKelly your new tureen is so pretty, I love it's shape!!

Love your white collection! The look so pretty around your beautiful home.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!
It all looks so pretty, Kelly. I have one small ironstone soup tureen but I would love to find more.
ReplyDeleteKelly, I'm a lover of white dishes, too. You have a really nice collection and your new tureen is gorgeous. It deserves a place of prominence. I'm headed back to your previous post as I missed your house tour. Keep collecting and enjoy. I'm now "collecting" white Haegar vases. I don't have a collection yet, but I'm working on it. LOL
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Babs
Buy what you love is my mantra Kelly and you are doing that Kelly with these beauties. My SIL just sold a copy of a tureen from the Dupont mansion for next to nothing. I did not buy it because I am out of space but it was pretty.
ReplyDeleteSuch an impressive collection.
ReplyDeleteI have this same kind of weakness, Kelly!! LOL! so many dishes... so little time.
