Hello everyone!
Do you love lamps as much as I do? It's a weakness of mine to go along with the pillow addiction that I have as well. I think lighting is so important in a home. If I had an unlimited budget, I'd do a major overhaul of some of the lights in my house (especially the chandelier in my foyer). But since I don't, I enjoy what I can change easily which are table lamps. I have several around my house, but recently a new one was added to my collection. It was intended to replace a lamp that I no longer loved and didn't really work too well any more. But, after I got it set-up in the spot it was intended for, I decided to place it elsewhere. Then, a major lamp frenzy ensued and the next thing I knew, every lamp in the house had changed places with another one. Didn't see that one coming!!! LOL.
So come along with me and I'll show you where everything ended up and the new lamp that started this whole mess in the first place!
This is my new lamp. It came from Joss & Main. It is called a spindle lamp. It has a taupe colored silk shade and is very well made. It has a nice amber glow at night.
If it looks a little purple, it's just the glare from the sun. It is NOT purple. LOL!
So, where did the lamp go that used to be on this table?
It went here. (Note: The crown is not part of the lamp. It is just sitting beside the lamp.)
And the lamp that was on this tea table went here.
The lamp that was on this secretary went here.
Still following me???
The lamp that was here................
is now to be donated, sold or saved for future use. Still deciding on it.
But the lamp frenzy is not over. Oh no! The lamp in the foyer got switched out too.
This lamp used to be here.
So, that brings us to the end of the lamp tour. For now! Time will tell if any of them move around again. The nice thing, though, is that they are all neutral enough to move from room to room easily. And if I wanted to, I could even swap the shades around. Oh no...........pretend I didn't say that!!! I think I'm content for a while.
Thanks for stopping by!
~ Kelly ~
Today is lamp day. :) Vignette Design did a similar post. Have to say I'm jealous of both of your lamps! I love them but have the hardest time finding the ones I can't live without...and committing when I see pretty ones. You have done well!
ReplyDeleteHahahahah... Luv the ever moving lamps. Now you are making me look at mine that have been the same since the fall. Hmmm... Thinking.... looking..
ReplyDeleteMight have to play lamp roulette.
Thanks for the idea Kelly.
Cheers, Gee
That is too funny. Of course I do the same thing.

Good Evening Kelly, Me to, I love lamps, I have a selection from all the places we have lived.
ReplyDeleteDon't you find by re-arranging it is like buying new lamps, because everything looks so different.
I'll keep "an eye" on you to see if you give in and change your lampshades around!
Best Wishes
Daphne
I guess you decided to play "musical chairs" with your lamps. The new lamp is really cool!
ReplyDeleteThey are like pillows...you can never have enough!!
ReplyDeleteI love all your lamps especially your new one!!
i'm a lamp tramp myself kelly...i don't know what i love more, lamps or pillows! i love all of your lamps and any one of them would look fabulous in my house (hint hint - ha!)...when i made my black & white check shade i shared recently for my foyer, i took the shade of another lamp which left that lamp "shadeless" but recently i found a darling rectangle shade in wal mart (of all places) that looks linen like and is actually prettier than the one i took off...does that make sense?
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly: I love all your lamps and also love changing lamps around. The one with the burlap shade and the bow on white chest, I saw it or one very similar at Hobby Lobby and just fell in love with it. However, it looks so beautiful in your home but it isn't really Victorian so I passed on it. I still think about it. I think I may have a 'split' personality..Happy Thursday..Judy
ReplyDeleteAlways seems like one thing leads to another, great job.
ReplyDeleteKelly I'm crazy about lamps as well, I finally found the new one for the kitchen and the laundry room haven't posted about it yet but I will. Can't pick the ones up for the kitchen until March. Wait til you see them. Don't want to give to much away.

What a great collection of lamps! I don't really like a single one that I have right now! This is great inspiration for me to get out there and get something better. I love every one of yours!

I had to laugh...I do this all the time and call it the 'domino effect'...you think it'll be one little change, and the next thing you know, everything is being rearranged! :)
ReplyDeleteI love all your lamps, but especially the crown one!

Hi Kelly, I do this rotating lamp thing as well. I also have a closet with spare shades in it. Your neutral lamps are beautiful. I like that gathered shade. xo, olive
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly! OH, you do have some lovely lamps! I love each one, too. You make me think I should buy some more lamps too! One thing leads to another.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,

Your lamps all look so pretty in your decor. Remember I commented that I was pillow challenged? Well, add lamps to that as well.

Your lamps are so pretty and great styles that are easily moved. I like them all. I love lamps too, and keep looking for the perfect one. I always see them in someone else's house or blog. :) I really want some new ones for our bedroom. Hope you don't get the icy rain tomorrow. Take care,

Unfortunately I have a hankering for vintage lamps and they are always waiting to be rewired! You have a lovely collection of safe, lamps in working condition. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Those shades will be getting swapped around next! LOL! As you said, it is really nice to have good neutral colors that you can move into any space in your house and get a fresh look! blessings ~ tanna

ReplyDeletewell girl you are not alone! I just got two new bedroom lamps and I now have revolving lamps in my house too. My bedroom ones are now in my family room which caused the family rooms ones into the guest room, which in turn caused a lamp to move to the bonus room... and the shades are all over the place.
ReplyDeleteYour lamps are all lovely, and I like the new spindle one too.
ReplyDeleteLove all your lamps!! Isn't it funny how moving one thing can lead to moving another...and another...and another. They all look great in there new places!

ReplyDeleteKelly, I had to laugh when I saw this post in my in box! Mr. Delightful said I have a lamp addiction! The other day I brought home another new lamp. I love all your lamps especially the one with the crown base. Where did you find that one? Your home is lovely as always and I always enjoy seeing how you tweak things.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Of course after he said I had a lamp addiction.....I replied "I think someone has a t.v. addiction. We have one in almost every room of the house!
