Hello everyone!
I've been puttering around the house again moving things around. No surprise to you, I'm sure! I thought I'd share some of what I've been doing.
I changed the top of the chest in my family room. I wanted a more industrial farmhouse vignette, so I placed my pharmacy lamp and wire basket on top. I also incorporated several books into the mix. I'm liking it!
I decided I wanted a bigger, more comfy chair in here too. I had a wooden arm chair in here before, but changed it with this one that was in my bedroom. I threw a slipcover over it and called it done! (I know the slipcover is wrinkled. I need to iron it.)
This is a very comfortable chair that my mom gave me. I'm glad to be able to use it in the family room now.
On the opposite side of the room, I changed out my floor lamp for a different one. This one has a swing arm that I like. Then I added a kuboo style basket beside the chair.
I changed up the vignette on my coffee table too. A glass bottle, drift wood sticks and fern sit inside a basket tray.
In my foyer, I removed the greenery from the wall basket and placed long cotton branches in it.
In my kitchen, I placed my bottle drying rack in the center of the table and hung more coffee cups on it. I love the sculptural look and the fact that it serves a purpose as well.
The centerpiece that was on my table switched places on the grey cabinet behind the table. I have a small picture that I'm waiting on to be delivered that I plan on hanging above it.
Hope your week is going well so far. I have an icky dentist appt. later this week. Anyone care to switch places with me? I'm ready for the weekend a l r e a d y!
Thanks for stopping by!
~ Kelly ~

I adore the long basket. The cotton in it is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI really love all of the changes you've made, Kelly. Isn't it fun to putter? I like that old dresser and the vignette on it is so pretty. And your coffee table really inspires me to change mine out.

ReplyDeleteI think you are going to like this comfortable and nice looking change for a while!
Well done.
Everything looks great Kelly. It's fun to move things around. The cotton bolls look great in the basket.
ReplyDeleteSo much prettiness Kelly!! I love the kubu basket with the number on it. Did it come that way or did you add it? I also love your pretty vignette! The driftwood in the vase is really cool looking!!
ReplyDeleteI'd love some cotton boll branches, but they're not to be found in my neck of the woods. You've been a busy girl moving things to and fro. I'll bet you keep the men in your house on their toes. They never know what's going to be moved next! It's looking good!
ReplyDeleteKelly- Everything looks really nice! I love some of the simple touches like the driftwood in the clear glass piece. It all looks great- xo Diana

ReplyDeleteYour home looks so inviting!
Love, Love, Love. What more can I say!
ReplyDeleteKelly...your changes look great!1 I couldn't believe it when I read that you wanted a more industrial farmhouse vignette. My husband retired from his job and brought home all the things that he had displayed in his office. It all has an industrial feel to it and I'm going to be redoing some decorating to put his things out on display here at home. I told him that I thought we could work his things into the farmhouse style that I loved and he said..."How about if you went with an industrial farmhouse style."
ReplyDeletehugs,
Cindy

ReplyDeleteAll of your changes look so nice. I really like the industrial farmhouse look too! You have so many pretty lights ~ I have been looking for some new lamps and having a hard time finding anything that I like but I will persevere. Such is the hard life of decorating!!
ReplyDeleteeverything looks wonderful Kelly..you need to come play around my house now. BTW I really like your black window/door in your kitchen nook. It really pops....also I just now noticed that your sister has a blog I am subscribing too as well. How fun!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, lady, when you get into a "tweaking mode," there is no holding you back! Your farmhouse vignettes are always "drool-worthy," even if you do not have the farmhouse style. I'm really liking the look of the baskets that I'm seeing everywhere and used in so many different ways. I also adore the drying rack holding all the mugs -- that is so very cool!
ReplyDeleteCarol
I'm a big dental phobic so you're on your own there! Love all the changes you made and I covet your bottle drying rack....I'll trade you a kid for it....there's two boys and two girls...three are teens.....take your pick....I can ship quickly...no charge....AFTER I get the rack of course...
ReplyDeleteYour home is so pretty. I really like how you used the driftwood. Simple and pretty!
ReplyDeleteWow! Love coming over here and seeing all your tweaking! I love the industrial farm house touches and the way you so cleverly find new uses for items (your drying rack).
