Hello everyone!
I've finally completed the changes to the breakfast area that I was working on. Now, of course, I say that lightly. I'm never REALLY done changing things around (as you already know). But, as of today, this is how it looks. LOL!
Remember I moved the checked drapes to my bedroom. So, I decided to hang simple drop cloth panels in here. I like them, but I'm still getting used to them. I may try the burlap panels in here and then make a final decision.
I painted the french doors the same grey color as my open cabinets. Remember they were black.
The large sign pictured above is on order from Antique Farmhouse. When it arrives, I'm planning on hanging it above my french doors. It measures the exact width of them. My little Bon Appetit sign will go the consignment store. I've had it for years and am ready for a change.
I moved the hanging fabric wall art to the other side of the french doors and repainted the interior door brown to match the rest of the house.
Filled a basket with some lavender bushes too.
So, now that I've removed some of the black out of my kitchen and replaced it with grey, it feels much lighter. I'm still experimenting with different vignettes etc since I've made the color change. I've had black in here for so long, it takes some getting used to!
Hope you all are having a great week so far.
Thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteNice changes and love the sign your ordered.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to remember the black you had, but I can tell it looks very light, airy and lovely! The drop cloth curtains are the nicest I've seen! I love the sign and your idea of having the lavender bush in the big basket. Does it need a lot of sun or do you just move it outdoors in the summer?
ReplyDeleteLooks great, Kelly!
XO,
Jane
Oh I love the changes, your breakfast area looks so good. The gray is lovely and I so agree, when I make changes, it really takes me a while to get used to it. I would love for you to link this up to my Inspire Me Tuesday party that just started. This is perfect. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteKelly it looks great! I really admire those of you who change things up regularly. I'm so bad about getting something that I like and leaving it...like forever. :)

ReplyDeleteThe grey doors look great and really make sense since you changed the open cabinet colour. Your room is very pretty and the new large sign is going to look awesome. I bought a piece of pine to paint a large sign for over the door opening in our living room but I am stumped as to what word/words to paint on it.
ReplyDeleteKelly, you amaze me. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThe new, brighter look is just lovely! You certainly have an eye for what will work.

ReplyDeleteI'm gonna have to keep up with the Jones's here.... I have a little Bon Appetit sign over French doors in our breakfast nook that I've been thinking needs a bigger sign for years now. Maybe my next project instead of finishing the dining room?
ReplyDeleteAnd tell me, what are your specific thoughts on the drop cloth panels, you said you are getting used to them.

I love that basket with all the lavender, so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love that 'go to' gray you use! My neighbor used a lovely gray for her walls. I am about to start a major redo of my dark outdated hall. You are a real inspiration!
ReplyDeleteGood Afternoon Kelly, I love the changes you have made, as your room appears lovely and bright.
ReplyDeleteI especially like the pots and pans hanging above your counter.....and the finishing touch is the basket of lavender...just lovely.
Best Wishes
