Hello everyone!
Well, I did it again. I decided that the master bedroom still needed some tweaking so it would match the rest of the house. And now it does. I got a good start on it last time with the white walls and bringing some burlap shams in, but that just wasn't enough. I like for my whole house to flow consistently, from room to room. Even if the rooms aren't open to each other. There is one exception..........the kids rooms. I have a rule that they can have what they want in their rooms. I did growing up, so mine can too. It is their personal space.
So, I decided to bring in a little bit more burlap and add some grey to the mix as well. That is what I predominantly have in the living spaces of the house.
I brought in more burlap pillows, lamp shades and a coffee sack wall hanging I made years ago.
I also decided to bring in the grey bench from the hallway for the foot of the bed.
I moved the floor lamp over to the chair and ottoman and changed the shade.
My new vintage style ceiling tile is propped up on one side of the bed.
And a grey urn holds white flowers on the other side of the bed.
Both of those add great texture to the space. I find that is important when using all neutrals.
I'm loving the changes! All of this was done just shopping the house too.
Now..........my master bathroom will need to undergo the same treatment. It doesn't flow with the bedroom anymore. I'm looking forward to making changes in there soon.
Thanks for stopping by!

I love it! I too like for all the rooms in the house to flow together, besides the kid's rooms :)
ReplyDeleteYour room is beautiful to begin with. The burlap adds nice texture.
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful Kelly. I love all of the texture in your room.
ReplyDeleteGreat touches with the added burlap. Love the pillows.
ReplyDeleteI think these changes make your checked drapes look even better and be the focal point of the space. You have reminded me that I have two tiles like yours to sand and paint. xo, olive
ReplyDeleteI love the khaki and burlap mixed with the white. I've been thinking about making myself some shams and drapes and couldn't make up my mind. I think you just helped make the decision for me!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of burlap, but I can't have it much because I seem to have an allergy to it. I love your changes!

Love the burlap and that ceiling tile is so pretty! I have the same rule for my kids rooms. They can have what they want in there. :)
ReplyDeleteYour changes always look so pretty, Kelly! The burlap pillows, lamp shade, and wall hanging provide a nice anchor with all your pretty whites and grays.

ReplyDeleteLove it, wish I could go with neutrals, your home always looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love the looks of it, Kelly. While I LOVE the way burlap looks in a room I am so allergic to it that I itch terribly if I even touch it- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThe changes look great, Kelly! The only thing more fun than shopping my house would be to shop yours :).
ReplyDeleteI love your bedroom!! I need some inspiration for my master, so I think I'll borrow some of yours! It looks great:)

ReplyDeleteKelly, your bedroom looks so pretty! I love for things to flow from room to room, too! The burlap looks great!
ReplyDeleteI like my decor to flow from room to room as well. I think it's jarring to walk from one room to another when they are all different. Good job on that! Burlap is really growing on me. I actually had some listed in my Etsy and it sold very well. If only it would come washed and ready to use!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your bedroom! The grain sack 'art' is my fav! :)

ReplyDeleteI love the burlap in the mix. It adds so much texture and really makes the white and grey stand out more as well. You did great with all the changes
ReplyDeleteFantastic!! Love all the new additions!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the changes too! I adore burlap and agree that it adds so much texture to your space! That's great that your kids can decorate their own personal space with their own personal style. You would not have happy kids if you forced your style upon them! You really have a gift for styling your spaces. I would love to come over and shop your house :)
ReplyDeleteKelly, your bedroom looks so cozy! I wish you could come do mine.. needs your touch.
ReplyDeleteI love burlap, too! Your bedroom looks great!
