Hello everyone!
Well, it's official. Fall is just around the corner. I can feel it. I even got my flu shot today which is how I always kick-off Fall.
The ground is full of colorful crunchy leaves now.
This is just the beginning. More will fall and keep my husband VERY busy!
My dog is loving the cooler temps too. Just look at him lounging outside.
Ah........the life of a dog!
I even purchased this holiday magazine today. It's full of great inspiration.
My fireplace is ready for the cooler temps now. Can't wait to begin using it this year!
And the throws have been pulled out and ready for relaxing next to the fire.
For me, the change of seasons is much more than pumpkins and mums. It's a change in lifestyle. It's cooking comfort food like chili and beef stew. It's football games on TV. It's being able to build a campfire out back and roast marshmallows on cool evenings. I am really looking forward to Fall!
Do you have a favorite thing to do in the Fall?
Thanks for stopping by!
~ Kelly ~
Max loving life...just too funny!Few things I like about being cooler (which here is still in the 80's, so not quite ready) is a pizza night and a soup night every week.
ReplyDeleteCooler sweater wearing temps, spiced hot apple cider, pumpkin farms, fireplaces, crunchy leaves, and all the beautiful colors.
ReplyDeleteWell, we should drop to the 80's this weekend, with lots of rain! So, I'm looking forward to the cooler temps. I've spent the day pulling out throw pillows and throws in all of those deeper, richer colors that we love. I went neutral for Spring and Summer; but the family misses the color. So, the pumpkin spice candle is lit; and we are getting cozy.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything (except the football....I'm realizing my southern friends love that game, but us Northerners are more partial to hockey ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your plaid blanket, and everything else!
Ps you should join Instagram-it's so much fun!
I love this post, Kelly...I'm so on the same page...I even got my flu shot today, too lol!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your little Max he looks so much like my granddog Charlie. Love those Bostons. I love fall too even though I am a summer girl I love the fall. I love cooking chili, homemade soups and breads and every Sunday my hubby watching his Chicago Bears. Love your fire place so pretty.

Jeans, a hoodie and a down vest on cool Fall fair mornings. Your home looks cozy for Fall and your pup is very cute, Kelly. I need to see if that magazine issue has hit our stores yet.
ReplyDeleteWishing someone would tell North Central Florida that Fall is around the corner :-) I am ready to be free of the 90 degree temperatures.
ReplyDeleteI am like you... comfort foods!! Bring it!
Hugs, Gee
Fall here too in Pa. I've taking things down to the basement from the back porch for summer, I always hate putting it away so I've been doing a little each day.
ReplyDeleteOurs are football games and cheerleaders plus games on tv.
Enjoy the cooler weather!
Yup fall is my favourite season.
ReplyDeleteLove the fireplace as well.
Homemade soups and turkey chili are on my lists.
I love Fall and the temperatures Fall brings. Grilled cheese and tomato soup for me!!!! xo
ReplyDeleteYour home looks so comfy and cozy! I feel like it's fall right now with a nip in the air and cool weather, but it's warming up again this week. I'm with you though on wanting to make comfort foods and curl up early in the evening, the bon fires and woodsmoke. Actually, fall is about the only season that I don't wish to end.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
It feels like Fall here in Ohio too. I started putting out my Fall decor today. I can't wait to wear sweatshirts and sweaters. Looking forward to Fall Festivals. Plus using the fireplace and having bon fires.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Cindy
I can't bear to let go of summer, but that isn't half as hard as letting go of Fall!
ReplyDeleteFall is my favorite time of year and yes, it is a change in lifestyle..a fun one..
ReplyDeleteI love your plaid throw. My favorite things to do in the fall are go hiking in the mountains, sit outside by the fire, take a ride in the country and do some antiquing.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the dog enjoying the cool temps. My male pup has fall fever with a bang!!! He wants to be outside sniffing the cool air all day. I am a cool and cold weather girl. Love the football on Sunday and the baking, eating, cooking comfort food, burning my scented candles. Seeing family and friends!! The best!

Fall is almost here too.....Wish I could see the East Coast once this time of year! Your Fireplace is always Eye Candy!!!
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! I can hardly wait to decorate my home for the fall
ReplyDeletefeeling so inspired.
Love these pictures, Kelly! And love the one of Max too! Sweet boy! I love fall. It's my favorite season. I just love to curl up on the couch and read my magazines with a cup of tea. It's even better if it's raining outside. I love when it rains and I'm all cozy and warm inside. :) We're finally getting lower temps at the end of the week. It's supposed to be in the lower 90's instead of triple digits. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! I'm so looking forward to the changing seasons and the holidays to come. That fireplace looks so inviting!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Patti
What a wonderful post- I know this is weird but I love to walk in the leaves-and kick them up a bit as I walk so that the smell of them permeates the air. Is there anything better then the scents of Fall? xo Diana
ReplyDeleteEven though we had a mild summer I am so ready for fall. Just the colors, cooler temps, nesting...it's all so cozy. I just got 2 new wool throws for my living room. I've wanted them for a long time and finally just did it. Love yours!
ReplyDeleteYour home is looking very cozy, Kelly! I'll have to be on the lookout for the magazine. I like how you keep us up-to-date on the latest seasonal magazines. I don't like to miss out on any. :-))

I love EVERYTHING about fall!! Mainly the cooler temps, and that very first fireplace of the season. I'm ready! Bring it on!!!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to using the fireplace again and good home cooked meals, too. We've already had heavy frost, so my potted plants are history. Oh, well, I don't have to water them anymore.
ReplyDeleteYour home is looking cozy, especially your wood burning fireplace!
Ah yes fall is here too.I can feel the chill in the air...the cool crisp breeze and the colors are changing.I need to get my fireplace cleaned soon!
