Hello everyone!
I've been trying to tweak a few things around the house that didn't feel quite right. Remember the dining room change I made in THIS POST? Well, I was not loving the set-up on the sideboard as much as I had hoped. I just knew that having one tall lamp on one side and not one on the other side would throw things off........and it did! I felt that I needed something tall to balance out the lamp. So, here is what I came up with.
I moved my Santos doll in here. Now, I have the height that I felt was missing. I decided to keep the wreath on the mirror too.
I also added a small topiary to the sideboard and placed a taller one in the center of the table. I felt like the large galvanized tub was too large there.
A pair of antler plaques were hung in between the windows.
Some french ticking striped pillows were added to the chairs as well. Now, the room feels better.
Do you have big plans for the weekend? I'm sure I will be comforting our youngest son who gets an appliance put in his mouth, at the orthodontist today, to correct a cross bite. He is terribly sensitive, so he will have some adjusting to do.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!

Very nice.. and I know what you mean about something missing.. I've decided I'm only happy when I decorate in pairs.. not sure why. LOVE those antler sheds on the wall! The color really pops. I'm been adding black in every room and I love it!! Hope I still think so in Spring!
ReplyDeleteLovely as always!!!! Have a fabulous weekend :o)

I can soo relate. There was a time when asymmetry did it for me. But of late... I have to have a 'balance' in order to feel right.
ReplyDeletePoor little man. Hope it won't be too hard on him :-/
Happy weekend!
Hugs, Gee
Love the changes, Kelly! But, of course, everything was pretty before! I know how annoying it can be when something doesn't look right; and you just have to tweak it! You did great!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Kelly...I love the added antlers!
ReplyDeleteI hope your little one does well with his new appliance. We've gone through that with spacers for my youngest. We had to turn it with a key thingy every night. I think when there's something new in your mouth, no matter how small it is, it just feels huge. Kind of like when a teeny eye lash gets in your eye...it feels like a rock. :) The changes you made look great! I love the Santos doll and the antler plaques. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt looks just right now, Kelly! I hope your little guy is ok. Mine went through the whole braces thing. Motrin really helps a lot if he has any discomfort.
ReplyDeleteYour dining room looks so pretty. Whatever changes you make, the rooms always look so calming and peaceful.

Love it Kelly. No matter what you do in each room is always looks awesome. I love that lampshade with the buttons. That is pretty darn cute.

Your Santos doll looks great there. I saw one at a local furniture store and keep thinking that I should go back and get it.
ReplyDeleteI hope your son does okay. Both of my girls had to wear an appliance in their mouths to wider it before they got their braces and I still remember the tears they shed in the beginning.
We are going to a Street Market this weekend and go look thru some shops in a little town about 10 minutes from us.
hugs, Cindy
So pretty Kelly. I love that Santos doll there and you are right the height is perfect. Hope all is well:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, as usual! I love your Santos it looks very regal on your buffet. I'm the only one around here who appreciates them. Everyone else says mine are "creepy"
ReplyDeleteIt looks great. That Santos really does balance the top out. It looks good there. Loving everything else you did in there, too.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your son-that is always a mess those first few days until they start adjusting to it. It will be worth it in the long run- xo Diana

ReplyDeleteThat is the perfect solution Kelly! I am like you too...it must be balanced or it will drive me crazy LOL! UGH your poor son.My daughter had to wear a stretcher in her mouth several years ago to prevent her teeth from over crowding. It was fun cranking the key every night to stretch her pallet!
ReplyDeleteLooks so pretty! I love how you use lamps in many spots-they give such pretty ambience
