Hello everyone!
Now that Halloween is over, I added just a few simple touches of Fall around the house. I'm not a big Fall decorator, so these are just enough for now.
I added a wreath that I made last year to my front door.
This was such a simple wreath to make using Fall foliage, faux wheat and grasses, pheasant feathers and Spanish moss, and a small white pumpkin in the center. All of this was easily attached to a plain grapevine wreath and hung by brown satin ribbon.
Let's go inside now.
I added a bouquet of dried wheat on the mantel.
I like the natural color it lends against all the grey and white.
My old book bundles compliment the wheat as well. I would like to find some of those small white "boo" pumpkins (I think they're called) to add around the house too. I need to look for some.
I can't believe that in less than a month, the Christmas season will already be upon us! This year is really flying by.
Hope you are having a nice Fall day today.
Thanks for stopping by!
~ Kelly ~

Kris
Your fall decor looks perfect. Love that wreath! I am looking forward to Christmas decorating this year - not sure what I am going to do, but I want to get into the spirit of Christmas and decorating this year.

Love the wreath. I could not find the mini white pumpkins this year either. Usually Publix has them but not this year.
ReplyDeleteKelly, Love that wreath. Your mantle looks just right.xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteHey!!! I have looked at every pic you have posted since you started your blog......and I JUST now noticed you and I have the same front door! Mine used to look just like yours! That was before the leaded glass had a break and we replaced it with a different kind. AND I finally painted my door after refinishing it so MANY times! My door faces the sun and it is brutal!
ReplyDeleteLove your wreath and your understated elegant decorating style! I am a overly active 'more is always better' gal. I would love to be more like you - there is a gene I simply can't do anything about!
How pretty the colors all look together Kelly...I love the carolers too in your last post, love the whole place in fact!
ReplyDeletethe wreath is very elegant, inviting and not "too much". The feathers are a nice addition for sure
ReplyDeleteI love fall decorating and love to keep it up until after Thanksgiving. Your wreath is perfect. xo Laura

ReplyDeleteLooks lovely Kelly! While you're out looking for pumpkins..I'm gonna head out and look for some wheat!! Love that stuff:)
ReplyDeleteYes, they are called little boos. I only saw them at ONE place this year and that was an hour away from me:( Your wheat and wreath are very pretty. Hard to believe time is passing SO fast!
ReplyDeleteLove your wheat in the white vase on your mantle. Looks great with the old books. I need to get my wheat out. Your front door wreath looks nice also. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThe colors of the wheat and books look so nice and natural together against the white of your fireplace, it's just perfect. And I love your wreath!
ReplyDeleteIt's always hit or miss with those wee white pumpkins here, I found them at the lake but not here. Some people spray paint the little orange ones white!
XO,
Jane

ReplyDeleteEverything looks so nice, Kelly! I love the feathers in the wreath. Your dried wheat looks great on the mantel. I love to use dried wheat in my Fall decor. We've actually been having Fall like weather here. It's been so nice and cool. It's supposed to rain tomorrow, but I love it when it's cool and rainy.
ReplyDeleteYour Fall décor looks great!!
ReplyDeleteI don't do very much for Fall anymore. I did tons of it when my girls were little, but not so much now.
hugs,
Cindy
The wheat sheaf is such a pretty contrast to your gray and white color scheme. I've seen Christmas stuff going up in the stores, so I guess the holiday shopping season has officially started!
ReplyDeletePerfect Kelly
ReplyDeleteLove it...less is more
ReplyDeleteI love the natural and simple Fall elements you added, Kelly … looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteKelly, Everything is beautiful and I love the wreath!

Great wreath. Love the pheasant feathers. I need to get some new ones. Mine have seen better days. The touches of tan/wheat color looks really good with the white and gray.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Christmas is so close, either. I used to refuse to decorate til after Thanksgiving, but in the last couple of years, I've started in the middle of Nov...with just a few things..greenery, etc.
Your wreath is gorgeous!!! Love your touches of fall!
