Decorating With My New Finds

Hello everyone!

As I promised, in my last post, I am sharing where my new finds from Ikea ended up.

I combined the white enamelware pitcher and  basket as a centerpiece for my table in the kitchen.  Take a look at those tall paper whites in the background!  I guess they're on their last leg.

I like the size and the combination of the white pitcher with the nubby texture of the basket.  It looks like a very simple country centerpiece.

I also bought some grey kitchen linens.  I love that color in here.

In my sitting room, I switched out the chandelier that was in here for this new light.

I like the look of this light because of the cotton fabric shade.  I felt it complimented the white slipcovers in the room. The chandelier that was in here will be relocated to my upstairs hallway.

Here it is with the light turned on.  I have this on a dimmer switch too, so I can turn down the brightness if needed.

My inspiration for this light came from this room.

My favorite piece is this trunk!  It had to be put together but was very easy.  I placed it in front of the fireplace. I love the versatility of this piece.

It's large enough to fill with blankets or throws.  I placed some of my vintage grain sacks on top. Now, I'd like to get more.

So that's the round-up of where everything ended up!  I'm loving getting back to my neutrals now that Christmas is over.  Everything feels back in balance now. Very clean and clutter free.

Thanks for stopping by!

I could just move into your home...but then you don't need a permanent house guest...HaHa.

  6. Just lovely! I would never be able to keep a trunk like that, even though it's beautiful. My cat would have it destroyed!

  11. It is all just beautiful~~
I am knee depp in clutter over here! Being sick for a week has taken its toll! I am starting to take Christmas down and am so thankful taking it DOWN goes so much faster than getting it all OUT and UP!!!
It will certainly be LESS cluttered once it is all gone.

  26. They all look right at home. I'm just curious - when you bought everything, did you already have in mind where you would put them, or did you figure it out once you brought them home?

The lighting scheme can be as complex or as simple as the designer wants it to be.There are so many amazing designs on this website. Thanks for sharing your Decorator picture.
