Hello everyone!
Are you having a good weekend so far? It has been extremely hot and sticky here, so I'm staying inside near the air conditioner.
I wanted to show you my latest love. I found this vintage floral tablecloth at an antique store and decided to use it on my table in the kitchen.
I've actually folded it in half so it's more like a runner now.
The reason is because it doesn't fit my table. Here it is all spread out so you can see the whole pattern.
It doesn't matter that it doesn't fit. I will use it as an accent piece anyway. I fell in love with the blue and white pattern. I've been seeing a lot of pretty patterns lately. I wouldn't mind starting a collection.
But for now, I will enjoy looking at it over my morning coffee.
Do you collect vintage tablecloths?
Thanks for stopping by.
~ Kelly ~
That's gorgeous, Kelly. I don't collect them but think about it every time I see them. The colors are always kind of washed out and pretty.
ReplyDeleteThis table is so cute and such a good idea! And both of my daughters are on the floor writing/coloring right now, haha. Maybe I need to make them a table like this! table-set-for-luxury

ReplyDeletegorgeous, what a special find!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly! Your table is so pretty and your floral table cloth is lovely. It is perfect for summer or can be used on a dreary winter day to lift your spirit:) Vintage finds are always so special. Gently worn, a bit rough around the edges .. love it! ~leslie
ReplyDeleteI have a small collection which I use every day on my breakfast table. One of them belonged to my mom and one was a wedding gift 57 years ago. I simply put a white or colored cloth that matches or blends under them since they are smaller than today's table. I enjoy them not only to look at but to use. About three years ago, my husband came home with three vintage Christmas tablecloths he had found at a garage sale. I already had two, so during the holidays they get changed so I can enjoy all of them. I hope you young ladies continue to love and appreciate things of the past.
ReplyDeleteKelly,
ReplyDeleteI have that exact same tablecloth that was just given to me. It was my aunts. Hers has a yellow stain which I have several remedies to try. I never thought of using it as a runner! Great idea especially if I can not get out the stain!:)I have a few more of my Mother's and Grandmother's.
Blessings
I love your vintage tablecloth.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do collect vintage tablecloths, but I have only purchased a few. Most of mine were stolen from my mother's linen closet over the years. I have wonderful memories of each cloth and family picnics.
So pretty! I too love anything vintage - especially kitchen stuff. Love the blue cloth - I just picked up a poinsettia vintage tablecloth at a yard sale! Love it!
