Hello everyone!
I wanted to share some things that I purchased with my Christmas money recently. I have a thing for fur this year. Faux fur, not real fur! So, when I found this fur covered stool at World Market, I grabbed it up. It was on sale, which helped me afford it. It is only available online though.
I placed it in front of the fireplace but it can be pulled up for extra seating and putting your feet up on. I just like the femininity of it and the texture of the fur. My husband said it reminded him of something you would see in the 70's. Hmmmm..............(thanks honey! I never even thought of that. I will try to erase that image from my brain now since I don't like the 70's style.)
I brought out my florentine tray to place candles on my coffee table. I wanted to keep my coffee table simple now that I want my wooden prayer beads to be the main feature!
And, I always keep a box of Kleenex out in my house because I have the sniffles year round. It is apparently genetic since my parents do too. So, rather than looking at an ugly cardboard box that doesn't match my decor, I ordered this florentine tissue box from Etsy.
Now, it blends right in and I just refill it when it's empty.
I'm also loving inspirational quotes. I have a few pictures of them on my walls already, but I recently found this one at Hobby Lobby and thought it was perfect for the wall by the stairs.
It fills this large wall better than what I did have there. Did you know that Hobby Lobby has a TON of pictures like this? No need to go to Sugarboo Designs and pay hundreds of dollars or even some other websites that charge over $100! This large picture was on sale for just $40. Now that's what I'm talking about!
So, there you have it. Just a few new pretty things that I've acquired lately and have been enjoying using in my home.
In other news, my husband and I have finally selected our new kitchen appliances and we'll purchase them from an appliance store. Another blogger suggested that I use that type of store as opposed to a big box store like Lowes. We received amazing customer service and decided to go with a bundle package that will save us some money. We have chosen all LG appliances. This way, they will all match and we can use their rebate.
I hope that you have a great weekend! We are expecting some winter weather here later today. I have no idea why they closed schools in my area though! I think it will mostly be a rain event for my neighborhood. I know that many of you up north are preparing for a severe storm however. Be safe!
Thanks for stopping by.
~ Kelly ~
Your sign is awesome and NO I haven't seen those at Hobby Lobby. I'm going to look though.
ReplyDeleteJust get a good look at the big picture of your room. It's absolutely beautiful!
Nice new additions and great price on the sign for sure. Can't wait to see your new appliances.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely vignette. I am like you with the sniffles and prefer to hide the tissue in pretty boxes or baskets. You couldn't pass the sign by.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun stool! We have some ice on the ground and snow expected later. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the stool! Your accents and style are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend!

Well, 70's or not, I just love that stool Kelly! It's so whimsical yet at the same time sophisticated, not to mention it goes perfectly with your decor. I have seen those signs at HL and I love them. We have such a small amount of wall space I really can't indulge, but I can have fun looking at them in your home :).
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love that stool, the tissue box may actually be my favorite thing. I had no idea boxes like that existed, but I suppose I should have. Etsy has everything! lol
It's funny how they close schools for the slightest thing these days. We used to need at least a foot of snow for that to happen. Guess I'm showing my age ;)

In the past couple of years we have had to replace the W/D, DW and fridge. All are LG, and we have been very pleased with them. That little stool is a fun little shot of glamour!
ReplyDeleteI like your new fur covered stool! World Market is one of my favorite places to shop lately. I have a bunch of Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket right now, but I'm trying to wait until the Spring clothes come out. I'm in desperate need of new things. :) You've given me a great idea to place candles of varying heights on a tray for a change in decor. Love how that looks! Oh, and that tissue box is so pretty! Can't wait to see your new appliances and yay for rebates too!
ReplyDeleteEverything you bought is so pretty, Kelly. I especially love the stool. I need to get myself to Hobby Lobby for those signs!
ReplyDeleteLove your new foot stool...very pretty. I love Hobby Lobby and I only live 10 minutes from the store.

Hi Kelly! Love your little footstool - a very perfect touch for your house. I spotted it on World Market's site as well, but it just won't work in my house - dang!! Glad the appliance store worked out for you, we will never go back to big box for appliances again. Looking forward to seeing the new look in your kitchen. Have a wonderful weekend. Jane
ReplyDeleteIt looks great!
ReplyDeleteReally happy that i found you.
Nice greetings from austria your new follower

Love your sweet new stool. I'm like you. Sniffles year round, so I have tissue boxes everywhere. I need to find some pretty holders. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteHey Kelly, I love all of your new goodies. I've been wanting to order a small fur rug for our piano bench. Fur is so warm and cozy this time of year. We're getting major winter weather here. Lots of ice and snow. We're snowed in today. xo
ReplyDeleteLots of new goodies! I think HL has a lot of really neat big pieces for walls. You never know what they are going to have. Just have to check often.

Cute fun stool!
ReplyDeleteI would have snatched it up too!
Hope you can dig yourself out once the snow comes.
I love Hobby Lobby. They have great deals. Your finds are so cute and I love the little stool even if it does look retro. It's classic.
ReplyDeleteI love your new fur stool. It looks so pretty with the rest of your decor.
ReplyDeleteI would of never thing of a cover box for the tissues but it is a great idea and I love the one you got!
Your home looks so cozy and peaceful! cannot wait to see your new appliances!
I had to laugh at your comment about needing tissues year round. I'm just like you. I buy kleenex by the case and I've got a box in every room, not to mention the cars, my purses, etc. Until I saw a specialist for my hearing loss and had extensive testing, it never occurred to me that I had allergies! Unfortunately, one of my allergies is to dust mites, and no matter how much I clean and dust, there's no escaping the little trouble makers. I'm also allergic to Aspen trees, which are 90% of the trees in our area, so indoors or out, my kleenex is a constant companion. I need to find a dozen pretty boxes like yours!!
ReplyDeleteYour fur ottoman is adorable and looks nothing like the fake fur I remember from the 70's. Your living room looks so warm and cozy with your fur accents!
A bit of Hollywood glam I'd say! Maybe Katherine Hepburn will stop over.
