Now..........as you know, I went for a very neutral nature inspired color scheme inside my house. However, that's not the case outside! Outside, is an explosion of color using over sized ball ornaments, candy canes, lollipops, presents and ribbon. I like for the outside of my house to make a statement during the holidays with a certain theme in mind. My house will appeal to the child in all of us!
Let's take a look, starting with the front door.
I tied a bunch of colorful ball ornaments to the front wreath. I added some large glittery stars for whimsy. The garland is shaped around the door like a little house. I thought about changing it to a more traditional configuration, but then realized this design suited my theme better. Ha! Little Christmas trees flank each side of the door. Presents line each side of the steps leading to the door. All of these are lit up at night.
Lollipops sit on the stair landing.
Back up on the porch, I've tied ribbon around the pillows in the rocking chairs to look like presents. Red ribbon wraps around the columns to look like candy canes. Even the porch swing got a little Christmas cheer with garland and ribbon wrapped around the chains.
Extra large ball ornaments hang from ribbon on the front porch and candy canes greet you at the bottom.
Extra large old fashioned Christmas bulbs light up the front yard.
Here, you can see the garland and wreaths on the other side of the house. They are adorned with colorful ball ornaments as well.
Even my mailbox got a little bling for the holidays!
And here she is sitting on top of the hill all lit up at night!
Merry Christmas!

What did you use to keep the ribbon stock to the porch columns, did you use regular scotch tape, if so would scotch tape also work for tinsel garland decorated with Christmas balls? Thank you
