Hello everyone!
Recently, I decided to make a change to the wall in the hallway that leads to the kitchen. I've had the same thing hanging there for a few years now. I know.......you're probably choking right about now. That can't possibly be true, can it?!
Well, yes it is. But, I fixed that problem right up!!
So......here is what I hung.
I've seen this done all over blog land in the past. So, this is nothing new or anything I can take credit for. I simply took an empty frame that I painted white and hung it on the wall. Then, I hung this monogram (of my last name) in the center. Couldn't be any simpler than that! I really love the look.
It's simple yet makes a statement. That's my favorite type of artwork. Oh......and it cost me nothing. I had all of these pieces on hand already.
So, now where did the piece go that was hanging on this wall before? It went here.
I know......so inventive. I think this is about the 3rd clock I've had hanging in this spot now. Maybe the 3rd time is the charm. Let's hope! For now, I like the statement it makes. I like the pop of black above the mantel.
Oh, and don't look too closely at it. It's the one that I painted over and re-numbered haphazardly. Oh well, I guess it just adds whimsy that it's not perfect.
See? It's a little whop-sided. Is that a word?
Oh, and just for good measure, because I can't leave anything alone too long, I decided to take things down off the tops of my cabinets in the family room. Then the light bulb went off in my head and I decided to try this arrangement on the coffee table.
I'm kind of liking it for summer. This is a collection of blue glass bottles that was on top of the cabinet you see in the background. Now, it sits center stage on the coffee table. I like how the light shines through them during the day and, again, they make a statement.
Well that's all I have for today folks!
Thanks for stopping by.

It always amazes me, Kelly, when I read your blog and see all the white/light colors you use and given that you have children still at home blows me away...you are brave. My children are grown and on their own and yet I am not brave enough. You house is just beautiful.
Gotta love free artwork! It is really cute! Your clock looks great on the mantel! It would look cute to have topiary on each side of the clock. Love the blue glass bottles on the coffee table! I was thinking of doing that myself this summer.
I love the frame with the initial. I've seen the big initial letters at hob lob, but never know what to do with them. Now you've given me an idea. :) I also like the light fixture in the pic with the frame. Very pretty. The blue glass bottles look great and I love how they'll reflect the light too.
Wonderful changes as always! I love, love, love the blue bottles on your coffee table....so gorgeous!!!

I like how you use the D in several places around your house...it makes it personal. And the big glass bottles on the coffee table look great. Does Max ever mess with it? I know he is a jumping champ!
very beautiful...I love that frame with the D......will have to be on the lookout
Your changes look great! I always love an empty frame-it just elevates anything placed inside it! :)

Luv the Monogram in the frame. Elegant simplicity, no?
But it's the blue bottles on the coffee table that I am drawn to. I can imagine the light bouncing during the day.

Kelly,
I love the frame with the letter. You are right it makes a great statement but is simple and sweet. Love the blue glass bottles on your coffee table. So pretty.

O, Kelly, you are too funny, in a very clever sort of way!! The D in the white frame is very eye catching and I didn't even notice the clock was cattywampus (I know that's a word) because it is something that happens to me quite often! But it is very striking on the mantle. And I would love to see the light shining through the pretty blue bottles..Happy Tuesday..Judy
The dark colored letter looks great near the cute light fixture. I like the way it flows into the kitchen too. The clock is awesome!
I really like that look, too, of a big empty frame with a letter or wreath right in the center -- looks great in that spot. I also really like your "wonky" clock! If you hadn't said anything, no one would have noticed! I personally like quirky and whimsical -- without those elements, everyone's home would be too stuffy!
Love your monogram.Monograms always make a nice statement and LOVE your bottles too! Your changes look great..as always. :)
I really like your tweaking, Kelly!! The black and white monogram and frame are perfect with the pendant light above. Loving the blue bottles grouped together on your coffee table. Don't you love the way small changes make a huge impact in our homes.

I love the frame and letter!! My last name starts with D too, so if yours goes missing...I don't have it. LOL... I'm thinking that this idea would look great in my upstairs hallway.

Cindy
