The Pouf That Started It All

Hello everyone!

Warning:  Cute dog sleeping in photos.  May cause a serious distraction.

The other day, while shopping at Target, I found this darling blue and white striped pouf.  I was drawn to it immediately because it reminded me of a grain sack.  I loved it, but thought, "where would I put it?" I decided to grab it anyway because I knew I might regret it later.    Well, as soon as I brought it inside, it went right where it belonged.

I loved it next to the white slip covered chair.  It filled in an empty spot and added a bit of pattern and color.
Here is a better look at it.

But, then the rest of the room looked a little bit off.  So, what else was I to do but start making some subtle changes?  It was the least I could do to make this new pouf feel at home.

So, out came some blue and white pillows.

And of course, I needed some blue and white flowers behind the sofa.

Then I draped one of my vintage blue and white grain sacks over the trunk.

And a blue and white monogrammed tea towel over the back of this chair.

I tried to make the room feel balanced.
I would show you one more chair with blue and white pillows, but my dog decided to take over that one too just before I grabbed my camera.  He's such a stinker!

So, I'll leave you with this shot instead.

We are enjoying a warming trend outside now.  I can't begin to tell you how lovely it feels!  And, I hope for all of you still digging out from under the snow, you'll have a change in the weather soon too.

Thanks for stopping by.

Oh, cute pouf. I bet it would be cute in front of the chair in place of the ottoman. Temporarily, of course.

I promise you that there is no cute striped pouf in a Canadian Target! I like the subtle changes you've made - very spring-like.

Kelly that pouf is adorable! I love it! I've made a couple square ones but they were both union jack themed and were made out of drop cloth fabric. Yours is gorgeous - love the stripe - like the cute little handle tabs on the sides too.
I haven't been to target for awhile - need to get there again :)

Darling pouf. It, with your added touches are perfect.

In fact I got so excited as I have some things packed away in blue, and when I put my valentine décor away, I'm going to go BLUE! Your ideas are really helping me with ideas for my home.

So thank you!

Your little pup is so cute and they do seem to make the assumption that we do all this for them;) The blue and white grain sack pillows are so pretty (I think mine are identical!) They are easy to wash and look pretty year round. I like the linen draped over the wicker seat! I need to find one like that.

I like your poof. Did you receive the H&M catalog? Once I ordered they put me on their list but I've been afraid to open it. Bet they have more stuff for your balancing.

What a cute pouf! I was a Traget last night, but didn't see any at my store. :(
I like how the pouf set off a whole blue stripe trend in the room. The room looks wonderful! It is nice to have a little color in the winter too.

Kelly how cute! I know that our Target here in Canada would not have this!! I love that they are here now I just wish they stocked the same as in the US.
I would also try it as a ottoman.

Ok Kelly, the adorable pup was a total distraction for me. Huge dog lover, so cute propped up in a comfy space. What a spectacular find. I would have had to grab that too. There would have been regrets going on. Love t hat trunk too and all the added touches.

One small change always leads to more and more! The beauty of your neutral room is that you can add any color and it will look good but I love the s
Blue. I bet your little dog will love your new poof!
