Hello everyone!
It has been a glorious week here in GA! The weather is beyond gorgeous and our schedule is light since there is no school. So, with the relaxed atmosphere, why not throw in some spontaneous projects around the house right? Isn't that what everyone does when they don't have too much on the calendar? I decided to repaint my fireplace mantel so it would stand out more from the wall and accent the stone nicely.
So, here is the before:
And here is the after:
Now, I didn't hate the white mantel by any means. It was classic and accented the stone nicely and matched the room perfectly. I was just ready for a change. I wanted to warm up the mantel a bit more to make it more of a focal point than it was.
And I also painted the frame around the mirror above the mantel. Felt like they should match.
I used the same paint color that I've used practically everywhere.

It is obviously my "got to" grey color! I like how it contrasts against all the white I have everywhere.
Have you done any spontaneous house projects lately?
Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful! You know I'm a color loving girl but your white and soft colors are just beautiful. Gray is perfect for your mantel and mirror.
ReplyDeleteLove it. Great color. Nice contrast to all the white. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI love it. Oh, the power of paint!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I like how you painted the mirror frame too. Such a pretty color. We've got a few projects up our sleeves. Hopefully soon we'll start painting the kitchen cabinets. I think we're also going to replace the back splash with subway tile. That should keep us busy for awhile. :)
ReplyDeleteMarch was a month of cleaning and organizing for me so I need something fun and spontaneous to do.
ReplyDeleteI am not a gray girl, but you take gray to new heights - I love your look.
It makes a wonderful difference! I love it Kelly!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that color & it was a great idea to paint the mirror, too!

I like this a lot, Kelly! It really does make a difference. I am going to remember the name of this paint...did you say who makes it? It really is perfect. I can never seem to get the right gray.
ReplyDeleteSo many projects here, I wanted so much done before it got warm. Well, that hasn't happened yet but I still feel behind with everything! Ha!

That does look good. It works well with your stone facade too. Tying in the mirror with the same color was a great idea! The beads look great draped there. I'm starting to work on some Easter deco ideas.
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty Kelly...and perfectly you. Thanks for sharing the color too!
ReplyDeleteYou rock! I love that you are fearless when it comes to decorating! I need to paint our oak mantel so bad! I should "just do it"

ReplyDeleteThanks for showing us your TV armoire. I am having a difficult time knowing what to do with our TV. I don't like looking at them when they are not in use. Still haven't made up my mind, but now I have an idea on which way I might go. Thanks for the help.

Hey Kelly,
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous. So much inspiration for the spring, fireplace makeover is a must.
Do you recommend taking notes how and what needs to be done prior to starting the makeover project?
We had also listed some ideas
