Hello everyone!
Let's recap. The lighting has been replaced. The oil rubbed bronze towel holders and toilet paper holder have been installed. The room has been repainted. The hand shower has arrived. But, we are still in waiting mode for a few things. We will need a plumber to install the shower head and lever. We have an old set-up, so it looks like it will be complicated to install ourselves. We may also have to do that with the tub faucet. Also, we are gathering quotes on a new shower enclosure to see if it might be worth getting a frameless one instead. I love how open they look and it would also enhance our resale value when we sell our house one day. However, we're finding out that you need a stud to attach the glass to in order to support the weight of the glass. So, we have lots of figuring out to do. Here is a picture of a frameless shower enclosure in case you're not sure what it looks like.
It's expensive, but if it could be installed, it MIGHT just be a better option for us. You see I've been enjoying how open our bathroom feels without the framed shower enclosure in there. The bathroom feels so much more spacious! I think it will come down to whether it is possible to install it more than anything. These are better to be installed when you gut your bathroom or your house is under construction.
In the meantime, here is a pic of the curtains above the tub. I just couldn't help myself but to do SOMETHING pretty in there while we wait on everything else to be done.
I've been enjoying using these curtains too. They slide across and close so we have privacy. They're much prettier than the wooden blinds. Hmm.......maybe those will be removed eventually.
And, so the room doesn't feel too "sweet", I have this dark charcoal rug on the floor.
By adding this along with the dark oil rubbed bronze fixtures, the room will not be too dainty in feel.
It's a nice contrast actually.
My cabinet hardware is in route to me, and we're awaiting one more quote on the shower enclosure. So, progress is still being made. I have something decorative to spray paint for the toilet room this weekend too. And, if we decide not to go with the frameless enclosure, then we'll spray paint the framing for that too.
I bet you're hoping for this room to be finished, as much as me now, so I will be done talking about it!
Hope you're having a great week so far.
Thanks for stopping by.

It's going to be beautiful Kelly! I love the curtains on the window above your tub. Our old house had windows above the tub and I used to enjoy watching the birds while I was taking a bath.I hope the frameless shower works out for you - it does sound pretty.

Kelly, everything sounds lovely. Can't wait to see the completion.
Looking good! I had a more open shower installed in TX.

Looking so good... I'm not sure I would feel comfortable in that see through shower with the rolls around my tummy. HaHa.
Our daughter has one like that ~ very pretty. Love those flowing curtains too. I love curtains, however this apartment has blinds on every window..thinking of adding some sheer swags this Spring.
I would love to rip out our shower and tub, but you know who says no way so that is why we did the mini reno like you are doing. We ordered our bronze shower door pretty cheap from somewhere. Now if I could just remember where. I believe it may have been Home Depot. The glass door was too expensive.
It is looking great, Kelly. Hope you get the open sower that you want. xo Laura
Love your curtains and rug! We did a frameless shower at our previous home. You will notice in the before pictures we had brass....- here is a link, if you want to see it.

Oh Kelly I am getting so excited to see your bathroom completed. I love the new curtains and the color is sooo pretty. Love the darker rug too. I know this is going to be a show stopper.

I loved our frameless door in our previous home.mhooe you are able to do it, you will love it.
The curtains are beautiful, and the rug was an excellent choice to balance things out.
The bathroom is looking beautiful! Can't wait to see it finished!

Love the curtains over the tub! I have a window just like that over my tub and it never occurred to me that I could add curtains. Love that! I have a very similar rug in my bathroom and I think it adds just the right amount of grey. My hubby REALLY wants a frameless shower enclosure, but I doubt we'll get to that any time soon. Your bathroom remodel is really shaping up to be so pretty!
My sister had one installed in an old house..expensive but it worked out..If you have hard water...they show the spots more easily...I love them
Kelly this is really turning out gorgeous. I love the rug and I can't wait to see it all come together. Hurry up I want to see!!!

Really REALLY pretty!!!!
No, I'm not hoping for it to be finished, I'm enjoying your progress! You've got great taste, and I'm loving all the choices you've made so far!
Looking great! I love the curtains and may have to think about putting ours back up, maybe with a softer look like yours.
It's looking amazing!
I love your bathroom design, Kelly. The interior is very light on the eyes, and also quite spacious. Anyway, did you end up going for the frameless enclosure? I agree that it would look great in a bathroom that aspires for that open look. As for the windows, you can also add a frosted glass effect as an alternative for curtains or blinds. But I think the current curtains work well with the overall look you’re going for. Good luck!
