Toy Horse Makeover

Hello everyone!

I recently used some of my birthday money to purchase a cute pull toy horse from HomeGoods.  I loved it just the way it was at first, but then decided I would like it better in a different color.  Here is what it looked like originally.

I already have a decorative horse made of wood that I love, but this one is made of resin.  It is a different style too.  So, I envisioned it in black and white.  I painted over everything in white chalk paint at first.

Then, I added another coat of white and filled in the eyes and wheels with black craft paint.  This is is how she looks now!

I decided to place her on the coffee table for now.  I'm sure she will end up in various places though.

I think a boxwood wreath will look nice around her neck for the holidays.  But for now, she is going au naturale!

Now, I have two decorative horses to enjoy. Each, with their own personality!

Hope you have a nice weekend planned.

See you next week!

At first before I saw the !after' I was thinking it might be better to leave it as is, but I love it now! The tail stands out more ;).

So cute Kelly!! I just love those heart pillows on your sofa too. I noticed them when you wrote about your new sofa and other living room changes.

Kelly,
Your choice to paint it White and Black makes her look pretty. Great choice and yes a small Boxwood wreath would look very feastive around her neck. Your décor looks stunning.

What a pretty makeover! I love the idea of putting a boxwood wreath on her neck for the holidays. I think I need to make a few more of those wreaths so I can use them around the house during Christmas. Hope you have a great weekend!

I know it wasn't your intention, but your post made me SAD!

When we downsized, I really had to edit what collections moved with us to our little cottage and sadly, my rocking horse collection did not make the cut. It was just too big. I gave it all away and haven't missed it at all until I saw your adorable horse. I might need to hunt for 1, just 1 horse for the house.

Great job!
