A Beautiful Southern Property Tour

Hello everyone!

When my husband retired from the fire dept last Spring, he was given an extravagant gift to attend a class to build a custom bamboo fly fishing rod. Fly fishing is my husband's biggest hobby!  In the class,  he got the chance to meet many fine people.  After spending about 8 hrs a day together for 6 days, he became close to some of them.  One in particular happens to live near us.  So, when we received an invitation to his annual "pig roast" at his house, we were more than happy to attend.

I thought I would share some pics of his beautiful home and property.

Here is his house as we walked up to it.  It sits on several acres.

It was the perfect place for a party because of how much property he has and room for parking.

We walked around back and saw this.

There were plenty of tables set up for dining.  They expected many kids,  so they had a fun house and someone painting faces to keep them entertained.

The back of the house was set up with food, drinks, music playing and plenty of seating.

We were told we could tour the barn and see their horses too.  So, of course, that's what we did!

Look at the barn!  It looks like a small house!

It's very deceptive because, look what's inside!

Here is just one of their horses.  They have someone that takes care of them daily.

His wife is the horse lover and rides and shows them.  Here is her arena.

It opens up right outside the barn.

The most breathtaking view was of their lake.  It's directly behind their house.  The yard was meticulously manicured which I was impressed with the fact that they take care of it themselves!

There was a dock to sit on and enjoy a closer view on the water.

I loved the fire pit area that was built at the back of their house!  It was roomy and had lots of seating as well.  The food was served buffet style under that tent you see.

I meant to get a pic of the pig roasting.  They cooked it right on the property and served it hot.  Here is my plate.

They also served ribs and hotdogs.

At night, everything looked so pretty lit up.  There were little candles glowing on all the tables and string lights hanging from the trees.  The tiki torches did a great job keeping the bugs away.  I was shocked that I didn't get any bug bites!

We certainly had a great time.  We were able to meet some nice friends of their's as well.  They were all so down to earth and generous.  We were given a standing invite for next year!

So, did you have a nice weekend?  I managed to set a few pumpkins out (finally).   It is Fall break for my son at school so we may try to do something fun.

Thanks for stopping by.

Kelly, I keep getting pop up ads when I first click on comment. Then an add starts playing. I have to delete the ad and click on comment again to leave a comment. Is that something new in your ads you set up?

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this post! What a fun time y'all had! That barn looks more like a model home from the outside. I'm in love with all that property, the horses, everything. All the landscaping is beautiful and they even have a lake! #perfect :)

How beautiful, I don't think I would ever leave home if I lived there. The barn looks bigger than my house, lol. I bet you had a fabulous time.

Thanks for sharing these photos from this wonderful property. I have also been thinking to buy own home but I am not able to locate affordable property. I just came across Dove mountain real estate website and their offers are so lucrative. I might invest in this property.
