What I Brought Home from the Country Living Fair

Hello everyone!

Today, I'm sharing what came home with me from the Country Living Fair recently.  I first came across some ornate French style candlesticks.  They were not in the finish that I desired, but the size and shape were just what I was looking for.  So, I decided to buy them and bring them home and paint them.

I will share, in another post, what they looked like originally and how I gave them a makeover.

They are sitting on my mantel for now.  I have something else on order that will arrive later this week so they may end up here too.  We shall see.

My mantel decor has shifted over the last few months.  It's such an easy place to make changes!

Next, I stumbled upon this amazing hand made floor lamp!  It's actually an early Christmas present now since it was not in my normal budget for spending at the fair.  But, since it was one of a kind and the man came down on the price a little bit, I jumped at the chance to bring it home.

I love the old chippy paint on it.  The electrical part of the lamp is new so I don't have to worry about it not working.  Also, the lamp shade is new.

See the details?

And finally, I wanted some more cotton boll branches.  I used the ones I had to turn into a wreath.  But, I missed having loose stems to fill in a container.  So, I found these for about half the price I had been seeing them elsewhere!

I placed them in this white urn for now.  Everything in my house is subject to change at any moment!

Well, I am off to prepare for trick or treaters tonight.  I hope the kids dress lightly since it is so warm here for a change.  It seems the south has been plagued with warmer than normal temps this Summer and Fall and very little rain.  Our ground is actually cracking open since it is so dry! It would be cute to have a kid dress up in a raincoat, rubber boots and an umbrella because we haven't seen anything like that around here in months!  That could actually be a costume this year!

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Halloween!

And I won't comment on the use of chalk paint on the candlesticks...LOL! They look great!

Your candlesticks are lovely and so is the lamp. It goes so well with your decor and I love the chippy-ness too. :) I think I need more cotton boll branches too. I found some at Michael's today, but they were "Christmas Cotton" and had glitter on them. Not exactly what I wanted. Lol.

Your mantel is completely different from the last time I saw it, but as always it looks gorgeous. I love the new candlesticks and the lamp you found at the fair!

Our Halloween night was cold and rainy, so we only had about a dozen neighbor kids stop by.
