Changes to my Dining Room

Hello everyone!

Have you ever bought something that led to a whole room change?  I did!  I found a pretty church canvas (from Kirklands) that did just that.  I originally intended it for a different area, but you know how it goes.  You get it home and start seeing it in a new light in OTHER areas of your home and then try to decide on the best place for it.  I guess I was drawn to the brown tones in this picture and how it brought out the brown tones in the chairs and chandelier.  So, I placed this picture above the sideboard and a new room was born.

It went well with the greys and creams in this room.

So.......I decided to change out the centerpiece on the dining room table, by using a runner, some chunky wooden beads and a wooden vase filled with eucalyptus.

On the wall hutch, where I once had white serving pieces, I now have soft green moss boss, potted plants and a grey woven birch ball.  All of these add soft warmth and texture.

On my sideboard, I changed up the accessories using a kubu style cake pedestal and small potted plants.

I'm loving the softness of the room without being overly feminine.

It's been a while since I've made many accessory changes to this room. So this was a fun project!

I hope you all have a fun weekend planned.  I will be going to the baby shower for my future granddaughter on Saturday.

Thanks for stopping by!

OH MY GOSH! I love that canvas and the changes that were brought about because of it. Everything looks great. I think Kirkland has such great deals on artwork and seasonal stuff.
Looks like you found a beautiful piece and it makes a great statement.

Hope you have a blessed, wonderful weekend. xo Diana

You always seem to find the coolest accessories Kelly! I have to admit I thought of you yesterday and wished you were with me. I returned to that store I blogged about back in May when we first visited Wilmington, the vintage marketplace, and omg! Such beautiful stuff with pieces made for your home! I also went to World Market for the first time and loved it too :). I think being here is going to be dangerous lol.

I'm so happy for you to become a grandma! Enjoy the shower!! ♥️

"They" always say pick an inspiration piece. You've shown us how that can end up being a complete makeover. Thanks for an inspiring makeover.

Everything looks so pretty and yes I know what you mean about buying something and that leads to more changes. I love shopping at Kirklands too. We do not have one where I live and shop online.

Love the changes. The wooden vase is very intriguing. You really have a way to adding interesting elements to a neutral palette. It is a beautiful room.

Hope you had fun at the baby shower! That's so exciting! I know just what you mean about buying an item for a specific spot, then seeing it in a different area and making more changes. I did that with a lamp once. I bought it for my dining room buffet. But when I brought it home, I quickly set it down on the kitchen counter while I brought in my other bags. Then I stopped in my tracks when I noticed how pretty it looked in my kitchen. It still sits on that counter to this day! Lol!

The picture is very pretty and works so well in the room. The Chandelier is a looker too.

You must be getting more and more excited for your grandbaby to arrive. Getting closer.
