They're Not Just For Christmas Anymore

Hello everyone!

Since the cold air just keeps hanging on...........

I decided to use some grey and white Christmas decorations in January.  Yes, you read that right.  But you will soon find out that they really don't look like Christmas decorations.  They are not "blatantly" Christmas, if you know what I mean.  Nor are they in the Christmas colors. They just have a wintry feel.

The first one is a little wreath that I found at Ikea in 2011 during the Christmas season.

It's very hard to get a good picture of this because of the glare in the window.  Sorry for the dark picture.  What makes this a nice addition, this time of year, is that it has hearts hanging off of it.  So, it works for Valentines Day.  It's covered in yarn which sort of makes it wintry too. This is a Swedish style wreath for sure!

Next, is this grey and white snowflake sweater covered ball.  Try saying that three times in a row!

Again, it just says Winter to me.

And last is this white furry rug purchased at Hobby Lobby several years ago.  I've always just draped it over something because it's too pretty (and white) to walk on.

I wouldn't call this a Christmas object at all, but I have been known to place it under a Christmas tree!

So there you have it.  Just a few simple wintry touches that I pulled out of my Christmas bins........

in January.

Must the be the cold air affecting my brain.

Thanks for stopping by!

~ Kelly ~

I love the white fur rug - there are so many places I could use that. I have always loved fur - it is so luxurious. Your wreath and sweater ball are adorable. I am wishing for spring - everyday! I live in Texas and one day it is nice and the next it is freezing - there is no consistency here at all. Crazy weather.

I agree those are not Christmasy, but add nice texture in this really cold winter. My oh my it stays cold this week. Where did our mild winters go?

If there is one thing I have learned from blogging is that we can use anything, anytime and any way we want to. I love that wreath.

Someone else commented that they don't see tumbleweed where they live. It hardly weighs anything, but it is too bulky to ship or I would send you the tumbleweed. We don't usually see them on the beach.

I think those colors and textures are perfect for winter. The hearts on that yarn wreath are just perfect to carry you through to at least Valentine's Day and beyond. You've created a very warm, cozy feeling and I'm still loving that polka dot pillow! :)

I love the snowflake ball and wreath, Kelly! I just finished knitting a doll dress in the same colors with a snowflake design knit in. Great minds think alike!

I love creams and grays in January. I, too, decorated my home in these cool colors. Since we have average daily temperatures of 70 degrees year-round, I love how these cool colors make our home "feel" like its Winter outside.
Thanks so much for sharing!
I hope you come by and visit.
Have a beautiful week,
Suzanne
