Inspiration using Radiant Orchid - Color of the Year

Hello everyone!

I just recently learned that the color of the year for 2014 is "Radiant Orchid".

I really like it too because it's a romantic color.

source

The first thing I thought about was that I could use my orchids to bring in that color to my home.

source

I like how this color works well with white furniture and upholstery.

source

There are lots of pretty accessories out there that would be easy to incorporate in various rooms too.

source

A simple throw adds a nice pop of color on this white sofa.  It compliments grey very well also.

source

Glass containers are always a good choice for vibrant flowers too.

And baskets......

Do you like this new color of the year?

Thanks for stopping by!

I never pay attention to the color of the year..... I just use whatever I love. Radiant Orchid is a beautiful color.....I love any shade of pink though so I might be slightly partial :o)

I LOVE this color! One of my crepe myrtles is very similar to this color, so I might need to cut more blooms to bring inside this year. :) I also love how something as simple as a throw on the sofa can update a room. Love all these pics!

That is a very pretty color, and romantic. OK, I'm thinking my splashes of red left over from Christmas have got to go as I have a few things in the garage in this nice color.

Love the wooden grate on the table with dishes and flowers. That is a wonderful centerpiece.

I love, love, love purple in any shade and have been using it in my home for over 10 years. Finally, it's a popular color and so much easier to find the accessories I want.

Very nice! Will enjoy it at YOUR house or in MY yard. Not a big fan of it in my house or on my face or in my clothing.

I think it is a beautiful color. I have a lavender guest room- not the walls but the accessories and bedding and everyone LOVES sleeping in that room. I think orchid is a restful color. xo Diana

Yes, I do like it! I wish my house was a more neutral color scheme so that I could add pops of this here and ther. All of the photos you showed are beautiful, especially the little pink house with the baskets.

I have to confess that I am just not a purple person, although I really do like the flowers. xo Laura

I agree that the orchid looks pretty with the white. Not sure how it would look at my house, and I wasn't thrilled about last years emerald.

it is indeed a very relaxing color, yet it has a nice punch for using it as an accent color.
