What I'm Crushing On

Happy Monday!

Or at least I hope it is for you.  I've gathered a list of things that make me happy today (and other days).  It's a list of miscellaneous things from food, to analytical thoughts on some one's blog, and even saving at the grocery store!  So, if you want to see what some of them are................please read ahead.

1)  I came across this post a few weeks ago and wanted to share it with you in case you don't already follow this blog.  This post was written so well and I agreed with it so much that I just had to share it!

It's called "Enough" from The Cottage Nest blog.  Click HERE to read it.  I think we can all relate to it!

2)  Another thing I've been enjoying is having a little fan sit next to my chair at night.  Do you know how refreshing it is to be able to turn on a fan directly on your face while taking steroids that cause insane amounts of sweat to build up on you while sitting in a perfectly air conditioned house?  Do you know?????

3)  I'm also enjoying eating a lot of this.

I love spinach salads!  It has been a great way for me to get more iron and potassium in my diet too.

4)  While shopping for these yummies, I've been enjoying the extra savings at Walmart as well.  I'm not trying to sound like a commerical, but they have this new savings catcher plan that I love.  You just enter the receipt number, at the bottom of your receipt, online and then they compare all the other stores in your area for a better deal.  If there was a better deal out there, they will send you a credit for the difference!  I've already saved about $35 since they started this back in June.

You can read more about the program HERE

5)  Finally, I'm completely smitten with Holly Mathis's new kitchen.  Have you seen it yet?  She just moved into a new house and had the kitchen redone in a charming cottage style that makes my heart skip a beat.  Go check it out HERE on her instagram!

Well that wraps up my "happy" list for today.  Do you have a list like that right now?

Thanks for stopping by.

~ Kelly ~

Jen's post about "Enough" is so wonderful. It is so well written and every word of it is so true! I think I should read it again everyday. I've never had to take steroids, but being a woman of a certain age, I can imagine a fan would feel pretty darn good at times! : ) Something that made me happy recently was when my 16 year old son asked me to teach him how to make a grilled cheese sandwich ~ so sweet (or maybe a little sad that he is sixteen and doesn't already know how)!! Anyway, it was a nice mother/son bonding activity!

I always enjoy fun little lists like this. :)

I'm running over to see Holly's kitchen. Everything that girl does makes my heart pound!

I feel for ya overheating. Steroids are necessary sometimes but the side effects are not fun.

Glad you shared a link to that blog post about Enough. BTW, delete that first comment it is spam. That La Madeline person is all over the place and when there is a link like that they are getting free advertising.

You shared some great links! I loved the 'Enough' piece! SO so true!!!
You and Amber seem to be sweating buckets these days!! Probably for different reasons but it's still awful! Hers is from medication - we think! Wait! That's your cause, too, right? One day I reached over to hug her and said, "Did you just take a nice shower?" She said, "NO, Mom!!! I am SWEATING!!!! Always!!!"
Hope you get to keep a fan on you as long as it takes!!

Love that enough post....every word is so true! I don't normally shop at Walmart but now due to insurance changes we have to get some of our prescriptions there. *sigh*

Today in one of the classes, the teacher had a fan at his desk. I sat there and issued books for him with the fan blowing in my face. Whew! I don't perspire, I sweat! I think mine must be hormonal!

I loved this post, Kelly! I like fresh spinach too. I need to buy more of it. Thanks for the tip on the Walmart savings catcher. I just saw a commercial for it the other day and was wondering how it worked. I'll definitely be using it! What an easy way to earn credits! I'm off to get the app now. :)

Great pots Kelly, thanks for sharing. I hear you about the sweating on steroids, what a nightmare. It gets to the point of gross at times. I also tend to get hyper while taking them.

I'm so glad you're feeling better. My mother has had to take steroids on and off throughout the years and a lot of the side effects are so unpleasant. : ( Have a good day and know that your readers are thinking about you. xo
