Bringing Light and Other Changes into the Foyer

Hello everyone!

I've been on a big "change" kick around the house this week.  The summer bug has bitten me!  I want all light summery fabrics and colors around me right now.  So, I made a few changes that say "summer" to me.  In my foyer, I didn't have any lamps.  So, I quickly remedied that by adding a wall sconce and a table lamp.

A 50th Birthday Party with Friends

Hello everyone!

How was your weekend?  Did you have a nice Father's Day yesterday?

  We went to a friend's 50th birthday party on Saturday night.  It was at their new house in the country.  They bought a fixer upper and have done a great job on their house.  I think my favorite part was their new brood of chickens!  They have quite a large flock too of about 16 total.  Two of them turned out to be roosters too.  Their property has several acres and came with a few outbuildings on it.  One of them was turned into a wonderful chicken coop!  Check it out!

This building has 2 rooms.  One holds their chicken supplies and the other opens into the indoor part of the coop.

Summer Blues and Greys

Hello everyone!

Hope you're having a good Friday.  Do you have plans for Father's Day this weekend?  We will have a busy weekend between a birthday party on Saturday for a friend of ours and Father's Day celebration on Sunday.  

I made MORE changes to my color scheme in my family room, yet again!  I found these soft faded blue, white, and grey floral pillow shams from Shabby Chic and decided I wanted to try out some soft blues in my family room for now.  It can be dangerous when you have such a neutral space to work in because anything you see will work in it! Since, I like to change things up a lot, I take full advantage.

Creative Pillows

Hello everyone!

Over the weekend, I decided to make a few changes to my home.  It was just too hot to go outside (despite our subdivision pool opening up).  So, I was looking for a way to bring a cooler feeling to my rooms.  I first brought in some pink peonies and pink cherry blossom branches.

Bits and Bobs

Hello everyone!

It has been a hectic week around here but mostly good things have been happening.  My husband's birthday was last weekend.  We celebrated with going out to dinner and a cake.  

What's Been Catching My Eye Lately

Hello everyone!

How is your Friday going so far?  Mine was busy taking my son back to the orthodontist for a correction on his new retainers.  He got his braces off the other day, but couldn't wear his retainers because they didn't fit properly.  Ugh!  I will be so glad when all of this orthodontist business is over.  Not much longer to go though.  

I ran across a new magazine recently that I decided to purchase.  That doesn't happen too often these days since I am satisfied with blogs, Pinterest, and Instagram for most of my inspiration.
