Our Trip to the Apple Orchard

Hello everyone!

My husband and I recently snuck off to the apple orchard/store in the North GA mountains.  It was a beautiful day!  We ended up buying some fresh picked apples, apple cider, homemade apple pies and apple butter.  Yum!

Here are some pics from our day.

This is what you see after you park your car and walk to the apple market.  It is called Mercier Orchards.  It's very well known in this area.  It is located in Blue Ridge, GA, which is about an hour north of our house.

Now, let's head inside the store!

Of course, there were bags and bags of apples picked from their orchard.  They even had a taste area set-up so you could try the different varieties before buying.

They had a little bit of everything at this store.

Soups

Jellies and other condiments

Apple Cider

Chocolates

 Baked Goods

There was even an area to buy lunch and eat near the bakery.  We each got a freshly baked warm pie to snack on until our next destination.

Afterwards, we went into town for some lunch and shopping.  I'll share those pics with you in my next post.

Don't you just love this time of year for festivals and fresh food markets like this?  There is another festival going on in Dahlonega, GA this weekend.  We may try to go.

Thanks for stopping by!

~ Kelly ~

Apple orchards and pumpkin patches are so much fun. We haven't been to one in a while. Guess it's Gold Rush Days in Dahlonega. The last time we went was several years ago and it was soooo crowded, but that's good for the local economy, though.
Have a fun weekend,
Babs

Oh I love visiting orchards in the fall too! Love the smell of apple pie baking too! This orchard looks like a nice one to visit! One thing I miss down here in the South, I cannot find apple cider donuts near me! They are one of my favorites!

I will be up that way on Oct. 26-27 and may check out this store. My kiddo goes to North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega. I am going to see her. I hope the leaves will be pretty. Eat some pie for me:}

Two sisters not talking????
We have a store very similar in a small town of Raglan. I thought that was where you were. Oh the pictures are breathtaking....

Your pictures of the rolling hills and farm are postcard perfect! And what a neat place to sneak off to! I like that they let you sample the apples! We have an orchard somewhat similar to this in Michigan...it has a shop, too. We haven't been there in years, we used to take the kids. I am looking forward to pictures of the town. I bet it's cute!

Jane

This looks like fun! Just eat your way through the day. If you get a chance, go spend a night at the Beechwood Inn in Clayton when they are doing one of their dinners -- you will love it

This looks lovely--a perfect outing for fall. Thanks for taking me along, it is wonderful to see what is out there this time of year. (but you've left me wanting a chilled glass of fresh apple juice!)

Hi Kelly,
We have a similar spot in northern California called Apple Hill. They sell pie and ice cream that curls my toes! Heaven!

I can't even count all the orchards within 10 miles of us, so how come none of them have CHOCOLATES!!!! I'm missing out.
