Changes in the Family Room

Hello everyone!

Alas, I have pictures of the changes I made in the family room for you.  It's nothing drastic, but enough to make it flow better.  I am very happy with these changes!  The room feels more balanced and spacious now.

First, I moved my extra slip covered chair to the other side of the room and left this one with the ottoman by itself.  I placed a floor lamp beside it too.

I removed the grey pedestal table (it's now in the sitting room) and replaced it with this skirted table.  The height of this table works better here. I also placed a lamp on it that was on the sofa table.

Now, I have 2 white chairs that flank the grey armoires on each side of the fireplace.  This gives a nice balanced look.

I removed the leaning mirror (it's back in the master bedroom) and hung this artwork above the chair instead.

Here is a full room view.

Oh, and I wanted to share this cute little "D" typewriter plaque that I got the other day.  It's on the chest in the family room.  That stayed put!  Ha!

So, there you have it!

Next, I'll share with you ONE more project that I worked on recently.  It involves Fall.

Thanks for stopping by!

~ Kelly ~

Oh Kelly everything looks so lovely.
I yearn to have a white slip covered couch, but with two dogs I'd never keep them clean.

Hi Kelly! Oh, your changes are just beautiful in your living room! The skirt on your table is just gorgeous too. I've said it before, but you have the best decorating sense and you're so young! ;) I guess I'm a slow learner! :)
I was the one who was driving through Atlanta and it was raining and traffic was slow but I was waving my tiny hand off at you! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

I like the balance of the 2 white chairs on both sides of the fireplace...I loved the leaning mirror behind the chair, but the frame looks nice too, it draws the eye. I can't help but repeat myself in saying that I really like the grey/white in your home!

What a gorgeous room - I would give anything to have white slipcovers!
Well anything except what they charge for custom ones lol - and I can't sew
so I'm kind of stuck with what I have for now!
Thanks for sharing - it's beyond beautiful!~

Just these small tweaks make this room look fresh and new. I need balance in a room and I love the way you achieved it here. I think the fabric table covering is perfect!
