Shopping Part 2

Today, I wanted to continue where I left off yesterday.  These are pics from my shopping trip to an antique store called Queen of Hearts in Alpharetta, GA.

Here are some pretty magnetic glitter letters.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, these pillows would be pretty to have sitting out.

I really loved the light colored shed antler and the roe deer antlers in this booth.

I was fortunate enough to meet the owner of a very beautiful booth too.  Her name is Lisa Gabrielson and she was so nice.  She lived in Italy for 17 years and is an interior designer.  Her booth was one of my favorites.

Don't you just LOVE that beautiful large wreath?  Here is a close-up of it.

I may have to try to make one like this.  If I could just tie a bow that well!  This wreath was $100!  Ouch!  I love the colors and the style though.

More pics of her booth follow.

The rest of the pics are from random booths that caught my eye.

I adored these cow pics!  They were over $100 each.  Ouch again!

Isn't this a fun store to go shopping?  Believe it or not, all I bought was a little green pepper spray plant that I ended up placing on my coffee table with the hornets nest.  It needed a little something and that plant fit the bill.  My sister bought something really nice and I'm sure she'll be sharing that with you soon.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween tomorrow night!  I'll be sure to share pics of our evening in my next post.

Eating and Shopping

I went out to eat with my mom and sister to celebrate my birthday.  It's on Monday, but we got together early. I brought my camera along to document the day and share it with you.  We went to Macaroni Grill for lunch and I had my favorite dish called Shrimp Portofino.  Yum!

I order this every time I go there.  It has shrimp, mushrooms, spinach, pine nuts and angel hair pasta covered in a lemon butter sauce.  Oh my word!!!  To die for!

After we left the restaurant we went to a couple of shops.  One of them is my favorite antique store called Queen of Hearts.  They have several locations.  This one is in Alpharetta.  It is the one closest to my house.

Here I am, with camera in hand, snapping pics for you all to see.

As soon as we walked in the door we stopped at my favorite booth and I fell in love with this cabinet (including everything that was inside it).

It was hard to walk away from it and not just haul it out to a truck that could take it to my house.  (Afterall, it was very close to the front door)  Do you think anyone would've noticed me doing that?  You see the problem with this cabinet is the ginormous price!!!  Are you ready?  How much do you think this cabinet costs?   It's over $1800!  Yikes!  So, folks, it's still sitting in the store in case one of you would like to buy it, cause I can't at the moment.  Ha!  Here's one more shot just because I loved it so much.

I also enjoyed many other booths.  Let's look around, shall we?

I will have to make this a 2-part post since there are so many pictures.  I will post the 2nd half tomorrow.  As you can see, there was plenty of good stuff to choose from.

So, come back here tomorrow to see the rest.  Hope you're having a great Saturday.

Meet Bella

This little gal found me at the antique store the other day!  I'm not kidding.  I looked over across the room and she was staring back at me.  So I had to give her a good home.  I gave her the name Bella because that means beautiful in french.  I think she's just beautiful.  Don't you agree?

I placed her on the wall above my fireplace where I could see her all day.  I just hope that my little Boston isn't too jealous though.  Afterall, I have been bringing alot of doggies home lately.  This one is my favorite though.

Here she is looking all proud in her new home.

And since you're already in here, I thought I'd just show you around a bit.

I hope you enjoyed meeting Bella and seeing her new surroundings.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Stripes and Such

This is a continuation of my little shopping spree I did the other day.  I found a few cute things for my kitchen.

First, I ordered these black linen stripe pillow covers from Ballard Designs.

I love the stripe design because it reminds me of mattress ticking.

I have a lot of old pillows that I'm not using at the moment, so I was able to just fill these covers with them.  That saved some money!

Here is how they look in the chairs at the table.

It's nice to finally see the top of my kitchen table.  It was recently covered in Lego's!  Ha!

Another cute item I found was this weathered wood chalkboard.  It reminded me of a bread board.  I can change out the message on it too.  So I thought it would be fun to have.

I have it hung on the wall next to my stove.

My last little item was a tiny metal framed chalkboard hung with twine.

I tied it to the wire basket that sits on top of my refrigerator. I wrote "Now Serving" on this one since it was in the kitchen.  But, I could use it  many other places with different messages too. I just couldn't resist it.  I thought it was too cute and too cheap ($4) to pass up!

So, you see I was on a black and white kick for the kitchen!

While I was taking these pictures, I noticed a flurry of activity outside my kitchen window.  I looked out and saw this!

A bird was bathing himself in my bird bath.  He stayed there for quite a while and fluffed his feathers causing the water to spray out everywhere.  This was leftover rain water.

Isn't he cute? My husband thinks this is a dove, but my sister thinks this is a juvenile mocking bird. I'm not sure, but I feel bad though every time I see a dove in our yard because my dog grabbed one last time.  It didn't survive.  My husband told me the story about how doves mate for life and now one dove was without it's mate.  So sad!!

So, now I hold my breath whenever my dog is outside and I see birds flying around.

Ode to the Hounds

I've been doing a little early birthday shopping lately and wanted to share a few of my goodies.

I found these two french hound pictures at one of my favorite local home interior stores. So I placed them over the chest in my family room where I could enjoy them often.

Here is a better look at them.

The frames are made of wood and painted black and distressed.  There is french writing below each print describing the breed.

After placing them above the chest, I decided to change up the vignette just a bit.

I added some sea fans.  One is black and the other is actually painted white!  I love the mix.  Also, I found the concrete candle holder as well and really loved the texture and color it brought to the mix.

Here is a better overall pic.

I found this old encyclopedia written in a foreign language too.

I was curious to see the date that it was written and found it to be 1904!
Does anyone know what language this is?

Finally, I added this wonderful scented candle to the coffee table.  It's perfect for the Fall season and when it burns down, I can place another candle in it.

I wish you could smell it!

These are the new goodies for my family room.  In an upcoming post, I'll share a few new things I have in my kitchen.

One day, I'm going to take my camera with me to the store, that these items came from, and let you shop with me.  They have so many neat things!

Hope you had a great weekend.  My kids are getting much better.  So far, I'm not sick, nor my husband.  Hopefully, we'll stay that way too.
