Authentic German Grain Sack Pillow

Hello everyone!

Not long ago, I was fortunate enough to sell a lot of stuff at a consignment store which allowed me some extra spending money. I chose to buy my first authentic German grain sack pillow with it.  I have been wanting one for a very long time.  I have some reproductions, but I really wanted a REAL one.

It has been all over the house, but landed here for now.

The lady that makes these does very good work.  I'm not usually very picky, but for the price I paid for this one, I am!  Here is her label sewn on the back.

You can tell it's old by all of the imperfections in the fabric. This is the back of the pillow.

I know this is one pillow that will not be put away any time soon (if ever)!

Here is the contact info for the lady that makes these if you're interested.

Hope you all have a great weekend!  I will be heading to FL for our family summer vacation this weekend.  So, I may not be around as much next week.

Thanks for stopping by!

~ Kelly ~

It's lovely. I'm curious. Is there something special about German grainsacks (as opposed to French or Italian)? It is nice to have authentic pieces mixed in with other items in our homes. This is a great pillow.

Love your new grain sack pillow kelly,
Infact I love the tattered imperfection on the back side, I would be saying to myself "why oh why couldn't that sweet tattering be on the front side with its saying.

It's a great addition to your home.

I've been waiting for my first authentic European (preferably French) grainsack for years, but have not been able to justify the price. Don't know if I ever will. I daydream of scouring flea markets in France and stumbling upon a whole stash of them for a song! Ah well, a girl can dream....Love the pillow, so glad you got it for yourself. Sometimes we just need to do that! Enjoy your vacation!

OMG I love it. The faded lettering and tattered linen look right at home in your sweet living room. There is something about having something authentic, isn't there. Enjoy your trip!
