Look what I'm up to!

I have been thinking about changing the color of my foyer for a very long time.  So, this weekend, I decided to take the plunge.  The yellow color just wasn't working for me anymore.  I wanted something very neutral and light.  So I think I picked the right color.

LinenWhite by Benjamin Moore

This is the same color in my kitchen and lower half of the dining room.

This is still a work in progress!  I only have part of the first coat done so far.

I'm not sure why this is looking a little pink in this picture.  I took these early this morning and it may be the sun causing it.  I promise it doesn't look pink at all in person!

You can see here just how much work I have left to go on the first coat alone.

This is alot of wall space and very high ceilings.  I'm going to have to get my husband to help with this.

This will probably take several more days.  I can't wait for it to be finished.  I've repainted this foyer twice before and knew the huge undertaking this was going to be.  Anyone want to come over and help?  Ha!

crickets

And, I thought you'd love to see where everything was dumped stored while this painting is taking place.

Isn't this nice?  I'm really keeping it real this morning for ya!

What a mess!

On top of all this going on, my youngest son is home sick today.  He has a cold and was running a low grade fever last night.  Nice!  I hate it when he doesn't feel good.  So he is home keeping me company.  I will be taking care of him and trying to muddle through this painting by myself, since my husband is at work.

How is your Monday going?

Oh wow! That is a huge project with the ceilings that high!! Good for you just starting it. I think you will love it when it is finished, and somehow I think you are a speedy worker and it will be done quickly. Looking forward to the new look!

The new color looks very nice! What an undertaking! There is just something about new paint in a room that is so refreshing and revitalizing! If I didn't live clear across the country from you I would help!

Oh, Kelly! What tangled webs we weave!! This is a huge undertaking that leads to a whole slew of new projects, as a result! LOL! Once you change the wall color, I can only imagine the decor possibilities that you will come up with! I know it's going to be fabulous!

Oh wow Kelly! We know just how hard it is to try to paint 2-story foyers. We had to hire someone to paint the top part of our since my hubby isn't too fond of heights! LOL! Your new color is looking absolutely gorgeous though and I love that you kept it real with us with your pics. :-) Hope your son feels better and that you get some good snuggle time in today!

I feel for you Kelly! We painted our hallway 2 yrs ago for the 3rd time in 5yrs and the hubby had to use the 20ft extension ladder to get the top part done. It's a good thing I'm still lovin this color LOL! Just keep thinking of how much fun you'll have putting it all back together! Martina

Wow, you have been busy. I know what an undertaking that is. It will look great. I don't do up real high either so I wouldn't be much help. I need to start all my paint projects around here. Laundry room, hall inside back door, and powder room. Oh, well, for now I will just think about it!

Painting is a big job, I cant imagine doing those high ceilings. Don't you hate it that you have to make things look worse before you make them better lol. Hope your son feels better soon.

Kelly, Benjamin Moore colors are some of my favorites and the Linen White is really pretty. I don't envy you having to paint, but isn't it nice to have a new color?
Sorry your son isn't feeling well. Hope he's better soon.

I love that colour. Sometimes we have to make a mess in order to change. Our oldest son is home with a fever too, and I hope your son is on the mend soon.

Hope your son is feeling better soon. You have a huge undertaking here. It's funny, I have a very similar color yellow in my kitchen that I'm no longer crazy about. Can't wait to see your reveal.

When you take on a project, you REALLY take on a project! I can't imagine tackling anything with that sort of height. Good for you!

Oops! I guess I'm too late to come and help... darn :) If I lived closer I would totally help you, but then I'd rope you into helping me do the same thing. I think I'm going to take the easy way out and hire someone to do it! Can't wait to see your finished space. Hope your little guy is feeling better. I've got a sickie home with me today, too.

Hey... come enter my giveaway when you get a chance!

What a huge job. My foyer needs a face lift too and it's way smaller than yours but I haven't attempted it yet. Sorry your babe is sick. I hated it when my kids were sick too. Happy painting!
