Nature Inspired Vignette

Hello everyone!

With the summer like weather we've been having, and the bees and ants coming out of hiding, I felt it only fitting to show my latest vignette on top of my antique secretary.  You may recall that I found this hornets nest last year while out antiquing.  I loved it for it's texture and nature inspiration.  It now resides  here.  I added some branches to make it look more like its natural setting.

I thought it was also fitting to place it in front of the fern picture.

I have also been battling a cold or allergies.  Not sure which it is.  So, I've been walking around feeling like this the last few days.

Not too pretty!  Hopefully, I will get over it soon.

Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!

~ Kelly ~

I feel your pain Kelly, I have been the same way. Love your vignettes. I have been using that nedi pod thingy and it has helped.

Love the hornet's nest.
Now that TP idea isn't all bad. I hope you feel better. That is a miserable feeling.

It's gotta be allergies, Kelly! I'm going through the same thing and I can't get rid of this sinus headache. I feel like I'm walking around with a tissue all the time now! I love your fern picture. I have a few, too, and I think they fit in great anywhere.

I hope you feel better soon Kelly. What a miserable way to welcome spring!
I love your desk area and what you've done with it. I just want to settle down in that white chair, pen in hand, to write a lovely letter.

I can't get over the number of us with allergies. As soon as the themps rise and the rains come the mould comes up from the ground. We all tend to suffer. I'm just waiting, but not giving in.
Hope you feel better soon. Love that cute picture.
Your vignette is also lovely.

Now there's an idea for the runny nose but not sure it is an accessory I would wear out in public. LOL Hope you are feeling better soon.

Wonderful vignette, Kelly. I love the hornets nest. I had a couple of those when we lived on the farm and gave them away when we moved. J coated them with some sort of sealer that helped keep them from peeling.

I have been having itchy eyes etc for a few days also. We gave in and turned on the AC. These allergies always wear me out. I limited my computer time this week and didn't do a lot of visiting due to the eye irritation. Eyes feel better today after the rain last night. However it is just the beginning!:-)

That last picture is too funny, but so true when my allergies hit! I hope you feel better soon.

Your vignette is beautiful...I love the nature theme. We get those nests everywhere at the lake house. I never thought to decorate with them. My husband knocks them off the house and I know he would just cringe if he saw one inside! lol!

Jane

I love your hornets nest. Never seen one for sale, how cool! I am into all things nature in the house... Wonder if that's why I have allergies too!?

Kelly, my mama would rob the hornets nest of hornets and steal their nest-do not ask me how she did it but we always had these in the house when I was little but I have none now. Seeing yours brought back that memory. Have a good weekend. I firmly believe in Zyrtec for allergies-I am a RN and take it every day. hugs, olive

We have had very high fevers and heavy colds in thouse for the past 12 days - a crazy virus going around and allergy season is upon us. Hope you have a relaxing weekend and are able to recuperate, Kelly.

Love your vignette, Kelly. My allergies have been in high gear. We didn't have a serious winter, so they never quite left me. They can also mimic a cold. So, I know how you feel.

Hey Kelly! Like the vignette.

Have you tried a neti pot? Since I started using mine, my life is SO MUCH better and I have been able to quit using the Claritin D and Flonase! Yay! I wrote about it here if you want to check it out... http://garrettsquared.blogspot.com/2011/02/i-luv-my-neti-do-you.html Hope you feel better soon!

Poor Kelly! I had to laugh at the TP "head gear".Your hornet's nest is great. I've looked for one for a while now, but all I found was a little wasp's nest under the deck..not quite the same look. Hope you feel better soon. Happy St.Patrick's Day.

Oh my goodness! You must be the first to have a hornet's nest as part of your vignette! You certainly are original and I love it! You cracked me up with the photo of the gal with the toilet paper rig on top of her head! I hope you're feeling better soon, lots of yucky colds and stuff going around.
